Penny Becomes Sheldon's Scientific Muse On The Big Bang Theory

Also, Leonard and Amy bond over science experiments in "The Solo Oscillation."

When dealing with string theory, you're bound to run into some, er, entanglements.

In the latest episode of The Big Bang Theory, "The Solo Oscillation," which airs on Thursday, Jan. 11 at 8/7c on CBS and CBS All Access, Sheldon ( Jim Parsons) kicks Amy ( Mayim Bialik) out of their apartment so he can focus on his work alone. (And Laurie Metcalf returns as Sheldon's mother, Mary!)

As a result, Amy goes next door to visit Leonard ( Johnny Galecki), and the two pass the time recreating science experiments from their shared past.

Meanwhile, Penny ( Kaley Cuoco) visits Sheldon (who is still stuck in a mental rut) and helps him with his latest equation.

Also, Howard ( Simon Helberg) is forced to quit his band with Raj ( Kunal Nayyar), and Raj recruits Bert (Brian Posehn) to be Howard's replacement.

Will Penny inspire Sheldon to straighten out his string-theory twist?

And what will Howard do without his ability to rock?
