Carol Burnett: 'I Was A Con Artist'—And A Darn Good One!

The legendary comedian shares classic stories as she celebrates the 50th anniversary of The Carol Burnett Show.


Carol Burnett has been gracing the Ed Sullivan stage since 1959, and she made her return on Friday night to sit down with Stephen Colbert on The Late Show. The pair took a tour down memory lane, including some pretty wild stories from her early days in New York City and some huge twists in her pioneering TV career.

During the first of two segments (video above), Carol explained how she worked the coat check at a bar and made extra money by pulling one very slick move.



Stephen will be joining her to celebrate with The Carol Burnett 50th Anniversary Special on Sunday, Dec. 3 at 8/7c on CBS and CBS All Access.
