Did you know that "Rose" (Melanie Lynskey) is from New Zealand, and that she co-starred with Kate Winslet in the movie "Heavenly Creatures" when she was only17? Here's a scene from it on YouTube. Check it out! You won't believe your eyeballs!!!!

She should have her own show!!!
”I never watched "Laverne and Shirley" so I don't know. Itried it once for a few minutes but I didn't care for it. But Charlie and Alan are definitely up there with all of comedy's funniest duos, from Ralph Kramden and Ed Norton up to today.
”Yes, it's inevitable. It happens with the best sitcoms. Did you ever watch "Frasier?"It ran for 11 years -- WAY too long, because the last two years were so lame it was pathetic. I remember that the "Mary Tyler Moore Show"had the sense to get off the air before it stopped being great. There were just a couple of weak episodes toward the end. Hopefully "Two and a Half Men" won't overstay its welcome either.
”So, what will happen? Will Charlie dump Chelsea for Mia? Will Chelsea dump Charlie? Will Alan do a sneak DNA test on the baby to see if it's his? (Hey, they didn't even say if the baby was a boy or a girl!) If the baby's his will he tell Greg and Judith and will Greg leave Judith?
This show is turning into a soap opera!
”Ithink you're right. Lately they've been really straining for new ideas, and the new ideas have been really lame. Like having Alan get into ventriloquism and writing a screenplay. That's really stretching it. Clearly they don't know what to do with Alan any more. And all Jake does is hang around. He is no longer a key character in the plots. Neither is Berta lately (I loved the episodes involving her daughters and granddaughter). I think next year should be the show's last season. (In fact Ithought THIS year should be its last one!)
”So true. She's a lot like Mia (whom I never liked either; she was a bossy mean shrew). Chelsea completely redecorated Charlie's bathroom without asking him and assumed she could bring her cat into his house. She's pushy and inconsiderate. She's going to get on Berta's nerves at some point (a VERYUNWISE thing to do!). I think her days are numbered.
”I was a "latecomer" to the show andIdidn't see the second series opener. What "Caligula" type thing did Charlie do?
”Remember Frankie, the gal who was smashing the windows of the car in the parking lot, and came with her daughter to stay with Charlie and Alan? She and Alan were getting close and then she moved to Seattle. It would be nice if she came back and she and Alan ended up together. I wonder if there are any plans to do this. Maybe the series finale could include a double wedding, Alan and Frankie and Charlie and ????? (maybe Rose?). Jake'll still be too young to get married.
Now that Jake's older they could start having episodes that focus more on him and his relationships with girls.
”
Unfortunately I find myself rather un-excited. The stories so far have been weak and pointless and only faintly amusing. Alan probably being Millie's father is pure soap opera. (P.S. if he can get a moment alone with her he can steal some of her DNA and do a test!)
I hope they will come up with better stories. They still have quite a few resources. Like, what if Berta's runaway husband were to come back? Plus she has three children and we've only met two of them (Naomi, and the mother of Prudence, who only made a brief appearance at the door). They should also do more with Jake, like have him get his first job, have some girlfriends, etc.
