CBS.com chatted with first time nominee Jennifer Ferrin about her reaction, what she'll wear and found out what good luck charm she'll carry with her on Emmy night.

CBS.com: Congratulations on your nomination!
JENNIFER FERRIN: Thank you.
CBS.com: How did you find out that you were nominated?
JENNIFER FERRIN: I was here at the studio. I think they had gotten a call in the Hair Department and I was in the Green Room running lines for the day and Theresa [Marra Siliceo], our Key Hair Stylist, told me.
CBS.com: Were you surprised?
JENNIFER FERRIN: Yeah. You’re glad that you’re pre-nominated and then you kind of put it aside and hope for the best. There are so many people that get pre-nominated, so you never know.
CBS.com: Who is the first person you told?
JENNIFER FERRIN: I called my parents. They were very excited.
CBS.com: Did you get lots of reactions from people on the set?
JENNIFER FERRIN: Yeah. Everyone here’s so wonderful, very supportive, very complimentary. I got a lot of nice phone calls.
CBS.com: What was on your pre-nomination reel?
JENNIFER FERRIN: It was the scene where I found [out] that Jordan had slept with Rosanna and I confronted him about it.
CBS.com: Will that be on your Emmy reel as well?
JENNIFER FERRIN: I’ll probably include that because I have a couple of other ones that would go in good contrast. Somebody obviously liked it, so it probably would work! [Laughs]
CBS.com: Have you thought about what you’ll wear?
JENNIFER FERRIN: A little bit. I haven’t decided; I don’t have one thing in mind. I went really classical glamorous last year; I’m probably going to go with something Vintage this year, closer to my own kind of comfortable style.
CBS.com: Do you think that you’ll work with the Wardrobe Department or do some shopping on your own?
JENNIFER FERRIN: I’ll definitely do some shopping, but Maggie [Delgado, ATWT Costume Designer] has access to so many great stores. I’ve actually already mentioned it to her, and she knows some great vintages places, so we’ll hook up there.
CBS.com: Last year was your first time at the Daytime Emmys. What was that like?
JENNIFER FERRIN: It was really cool, exciting and new. I didn’t bring anyone with me, so it was definitely intimidating walking down the red carpet. I was actually with some of my castmates so that was great. This year it’ll be a lot of fun. I’m bringing my boyfriend and my parents.
CBS.com: You must be excited about the show’s nominations as well.
JENNIFER FERRIN: Oh, yeah. We got a lot of good nominations, so I’m very proud of our show.
CBS.com: Do you have a good luck charm that you will carry with you on Emmy night?
JENNIFER FERRIN: Well, I actually have a silver guardian angel that my boyfriend and his mom gave me a while back, and I kind of keep that with me always. So, I’ll probably take that with me that night.
