CBS.com: Congratulations on your nomination!
TOM PELPHREY: Thank you very much.
CBS.com: You’ve never been to the Daytime Emmys before. Are you familiar at all with the show and the process?
TOM PELPHREY: Vaguely.
CBS.com: I understand that you picked the scenes when Jonathan confronts Reva and tries to choke her to put on your reel. Did anyone help you pick that out?
TOM PELPHREY: Kim [Zimmer, Reva] helped me and David, one of our Producers also helped point me in the right direction.
CBS.com: Where were you when you found out the news?
TOM PELPHREY: I was in my [dressing] room going over my lines and [GL Casting Director] Rob Decina came in and got me.
CBS.com: Were you surprised?
TOM PELPHREY: I was. I feel like it’s such a crapshoot, right?
CBS.com: Do you own a tux?
TOM PELPHREY: No. I don’t even own a tie! [Laughs] I guess I better get on that, huh?
CBS.com: Did you ever walk a red carpet before?
TOM PELPHREY: I went out with Crystal Hunt [Lizzie] once and I did. I guess that’s the girl to do it with!
