CBS.com: Congratulations! How does it feel?
GREG RIKAART: It feels great. I'm very flattered and happy.
CBS.com: Where were you when you found out?
GREG RIKAART: I was here at work. So, I was watching the East Coast ABC feed.
CBS.com: Were you in your room by yourself?
GREG RIKAART: No. I was will Chad who plays Dillon, the barista at Crimson Lights.
CBS.com: What was the scene you submitted for consideration?
GREG RIKAART: It was the last episode of the year. It was two quick but, I think, poignant scenes between Rachel [Kimsey, Mac] and myself where I come back to the loft shortly after Tom has died and I express my frustrations over how conflicted I'm feeling about his death and I'm having trouble understanding why I'm upset by it.
CBS.com: How did you go about choosing that scene?
GREG RIKAART: I think they were fresh in my mind because they were recent and I just remember being proud of my work that day. I looked them over and you know, some people submit tapes that are like half-hour, forty minutes long, which I think is kind of inconsiderate to the people that have to sit and judge. So the fact that my tape was six and a half minutes long, I think was something that I thought maybe some of the voters would find refreshing. They were quick but they really were poignant and two really nice scenes and it was basically one quick scene and a really long one.
