CBS.com: Where were you today when you found out about your nomination?
JORDAN CLARKE: I got up early this morning; my daughter woke me up. I forgot that [the nominations were being announced] this morning. She said, “Dad, you’ve been nominated!” Then I watched. It seems the Lewis family filled up the building. [GL] got fourteen nominations!
CBS.com: That’s great. It’s exciting that the show is also up for Outstanding Daytime Drama.
JORDAN CLARKE: I’ve really been tickled with the show. I’m not as good a judge of it as my wife is. She’s been watching it for 25 years. And she’s like, “It’s getting really good again!” She’s in love with everybody. Tommy Pelphrey [Jonathan]. Our staples are the best in the business, I think.
CBS.com: Is it even more special that Kim [Zimmer, Reva] and Robert [Newman, Josh] were nominated along with you?
JORDAN CLARKE: Absolutely! Working with Robert and Kim, that’s always a pleasure. [It’s great when] the storylines capitalize on all the history and the layers. I think it’s all there when we work. And it’s interesting.
CBS.com: Have you given any thought to what you’ll put on your reel?
JORDAN CLARKE: You know, I asked [Coordinating Producer] Jan Conklin. I’ll probably ask [the producers] because I don’t remember. I have no objectivity when it comes to my own work.
CBS.com: What do you think you’ll wear on Emmy night?
JORDAN CLARKE: I don’t know. Hopefully whatever it is, it’ll represent me 25 pounds thinner! I’ll probably go to the Costume people and say, “Put me in something that looks good!”
CBS.com: Do you have a good luck charm or something you might carry with you on Emmy night?
JORDAN CLARKE: My good luck charm? My family’s good thoughts. You know, it’s such a thrill to be there and have the support of the whole show. They’ve been writing such good stuff that’s been so much fun to do. Winning would just be an added bonus.
