CBS.com: Congratulations on your nomination.
JESSE SOFFER: Thank you very much!
CBS.com: How does it feel to be a first time nominee?
JESSE SOFFER: I was very excited. It was cool.
CBS.com: Where were you when you found out that you were nominated?
JESSE SOFFER: I was actually on my couch in my apartment and I was watching The View.
CBS.com: Who is the first person that you told when you found out?
JESSE SOFFER: My mom. I called my mom and then I called my friend Lee. We’ve been best friends since we were like 10. Those were the first two people I called.
CBS.com: Was your nomination even more special because your co-star Jennifer Landon [Gwen] was also nominated?
JESSE SOFFER: Yeah, definitely. If one of us got nominated and the other didn’t, I’m sure it would have been a little weird for both of us. It makes it better. And Jen Ferrin [Jennifer], too, and Trent [Dawson, Henry] and Grayson [McCouch, Dusty]. That’s awesome.
CBS.com: Have you given any thought to what you’re going to put on your reel?
JESSE SOFFER: I’ll probably send in the tape I sent in for this time around. The other tape, I don’t know. I haven’t really thought about it.
CBS.com: What was the one you submitted for the pre-nomination?
JESSE SOFFER: I submitted [the episode where] Will finds out that Gwen has been taking money from Paul and he bribed her to leave town and not tell me. The confrontation that I have with her once I find out that she’s going to leave.
CBS.com: Have you given any thought to what you’ll wear on Emmy night?
JESSE SOFFER: No, no. I don’t have much of a fashion sense. I let the wardrobe department [deal with that].
CBS.com: Do you have a good luck charm or something you might carry with you on Emmy night?
JESSE SOFFER: No, not really. Nothing comes to mind. No lucky pair of boxers, sorry. [Laughs]
