CBS.com: Congrats Crystal, how did you hear about your nomination?
CRYSTAL CHAPPELL: I was in my apartment in NY and I was up early and I had the TV on. I heard, and was just so excited.

CBS.com: Who was the first person you called?
CRYSTAL CHAPPELL: Well, my publicist called me and then Beth Ehlers [Harley]. I really wanted to call my husband, but I had to wait because he and the kids are out in Los Angeles. Beth was like “call him wake him up.” I told her he’d be excited 30 minutes from now.

CBS.com: What episode did you submit?
CRYSTAL CHAPPELL: I submitted the show where Olivia tells Buzz about the rape and Ava being her daughter.

CBS.com: Did anyone help you select this episode?
CRYSTAL CHAPPELL: I picked the episode myself. I did it because it was just two people and really well written and Justin Deas [Buzz] is in it. I’d be crazy not to submit an episode that includes him; he’s great.

CBS.com: This is your first time being nominated as Best Actress as apposed to Supporting. How does that feel?
CRYSTAL CHAPPELL: It’s all good. There is just this great feeling that I get to be among these people and I am such a big fan of the usually suspects like Susan Flannery [Stephanie, B&B] and Kim [Zimmer, Reva]. It is very cool to be sitting at the table with them.

CBS.com: Did you do anything special to celebrate your nomination?
CRYSTAL CHAPPELL: I went to dinner with a friend. I’ll celebrate with my husband when I get back home.

CBS.com: Are you looking forward to the Emmy’s being in Los Angeles again?
CRYSTAL CHAPPELL: It’s a very easy commute for a change. It’s great we did it last year and stayed at the hotel with everyone else from the show. I have family and they will watch the kids for a few days, which means [my husband] Michael and I get to play a little.

CBS.com: Do you have any good luck charms that you’ll have with you?
CRYSTAL CHAPPELL: No good luck charms; just my family and my kids. I am pretty lucky in that category.

CBS.com: I know it’s not until June, but any thoughts on what you’ll wear?
CRYSTAL CHAPPELL: Oh god no... It’s too soon. Right now I am just concentrating on picking out what additional show I’ll submit. Clothes, hair and make-up, that’s the last minute.
