michael parkas the world turns
CBS.com: Congratulations.
MICHAEL PARK: Thank you, now the headache begins. CBS.com: Why? MICHAEL PARK: You have to pick out an episode. It’s always in the back in your mind; it’s a nice headache. I wouldn’t mind this headache every year around this time. CBS.com: What scenes did you submit for consideration? MICHAEL PARK: I just had them submit when Jack leaves, Carly [Maura West]. We got great write-ups in all the magazines about those episodes. It’s tough. I like to think that Carly and Jack had a banner year, a year of great material, so to pick one episode that can completely tell the story was really hard, because we have so much background and so much baggage. We had such a wonderful year it was very difficult to pick just one episode. I just picked the one that I thought was overall the best to tell the entire story. CBS.com: How do you feel that both you and Maura are nominated? MICHAEL PARK: You know what, this is the truth, I was just hoping for Maura to be nominated. She’s so amazing and not only deserves a nomination but she deserves the award. I never needed a trophy to validate how successful I’ve felt. It’s truly such an honor to be recognized by your peers; that’s the best part. CBS.com: Did you do anything to celebrate your nomination? MICHAEL PARK: I was in Palm Springs and my phone was off, so when I finally woke up, and I turned my cell phone I saw I had a ton of messages. We were traveling so we were all messed up with the time change. It slipped my mind about the nominations that morning. So, I had all these message and knew it was really bad or really good. My wife was in tears on the phone. CBS.com: Are you excited to be traveling to Los Angeles for the Emmys? MICHAEL PARK: It would be great if the show is in New York; it’s being a lot easier because now I have to fly out my whole family. CBS.com: Do you have a lucky charm you’ll brings with you? MICHAEL PARK: No lucky charm, just my wife. CBS.com: Do you have any idea what you’ll wear? MICHAEL PARK: I’m thinking some clothes. It’s a high percentage I’ll wear some clothes. |
