CBS.com: How did you find out the good news?
MICHELLE STAFFORD: I turned on my cell phone this morning. It's a funny thing because every year I'm nominated nobody ever calls me at home and wakes me up. You know when you hear people go, "Oh my publicist called me and woke me up at 5:00 in the morning." Nobody has ever, ever done that [to me]. I don't know if they don't have my home phone number but they called me on my cell so I woke up at ten after 7:00am and I was like, "Oh, ok, I guess I didn't get nominated." Then I go through this whole thing like, oh I hope Christian [LeBlanc, Michael] did, I hope Kristoff [St. John, Neil] and Peter [Bergman, Jack] did. You know, I go through all of that. Then I'm getting ready [for work] and I'm like I guess people just didn't get my tape; that's cool. You know? Then I turn on my cell phone and "Your mailbox is full!" And I'm like, "Oh, oh, wait." It's just really funny because every single year that's been the thing. I would never be so presumptuous to put my cell phone next to my bed.

CBS.com: So the night before are you ever actually thinking about it?
MICHELLE STAFFORD: I try never to know because I don't want to think about it. And all the time, every single time somebody gets me right before, I hear it from someone, "Nominations are coming out tomorrow." And I'm like, "Oh great, now I know."

CBS.com: Did you hear from any of the other actor nominees?
MICHELLE STAFFORD: Yes, Christian called me and then I came to work so then I saw Peter, I saw Kristoff and Jeanne [Cooper, Katherine] and I spoke.

CBS.com: What show did you submit for consideration?
MICHELLE STAFFORD: The show I submitted was when Phyllis was stuck in the elevator with Jack and it wasn't when she was giving birth, it was the day before where she told him to save the baby.

CBS.com: What will you do to celebrate?
MICHELLE STAFFORD: I'm going to go out and have coffee with Kristoff because I usually have it with Christian but he's going out of town.

CBS.com: That's right, I remember you telling me that you two usually go out to celebrate.
MICHELLE STAFFORD: We always celebrate our greatness. [Laughs] We always get together and talk about our greatness - for that one moment in time we revel. And I think that you need to. You need to just have that one moment in time where you have a milkshake and you need to revel, right? And so [Kristoff] and I are going to go have coffee and revel in ourselves.

CBS.com: Susan Flannery [Stephanie, B&B] usually holds a nominee luncheon. Will you and your fellow nominees carry on that tradition?
MICHELLE STAFFORD: Yeah, we're still going to do that. We'll invite her, too.
