Laurence Fishburne joins CSI on the 9th episode of this season. How do you think he will fit in?

He'll be joining a broken team. He can't be the one to hold them together. Grissom is the final link to their past together, and without him, despite Fishburne, they won't have a future.

I am very excited about Laurence Fishburne joining the cast of CSI. Gil Grissom is a great character, and lead the helm all these years, but there comes a time when you've got to quit while you're ahead. With a change in staff comes a change in viewership. In my opinion, Fishburne's character will add a whole new dimension to CSI Las Vegas. For me CSI Vegas is the only option. I can't get in to the fanatasy CSI that is Miami, and New York is OK. Nothing compares to the original.CSI Las Vegas is going to be just fine. Fishburne's character remains to be seen how it will fill the gap left by Petersens'. It will all work out.

I have said this again and again. LF will lead to the cancellation of CSI. He is lousy. He does not fit into a CSI mold in any fashion. Riley sucks and she too will help CBS really enjoy the ratings fiasco that will follow episode 10. I understand episode 10 will be very special with WP leaving. It had better be because it will be the last one I ever watch. LF and Riley, welcome aboard. You will be sorely missed by all of the fans that will turn CSI off. A new CSI, new direction, what absurdity!!!!! CBS you are last and will remain last among the non-cable networks. Have a nice day.

I am not going to be excited seeing him join the team, he doesn't really look like the type of person that is a CSI whereas Billy does, he just fits in right there. Unless he is able to show us all differently by fitting right in I am just going to stay with my original thoughts..

IMO, LF has become associated with an image that I dont believe will do well for him with CSI. Recent movies he has appeared in has had him in roles with a dark side, and for me at least this wont fare well. I fear I will begin to look upon this program in a lesser light than I even view CSI-Miami. Again for me at least Caruso cant act. He depends on one-line dialogue. He seems to be unable to put more than the one line in a scene. I also have the biggest problem with the writers creating a program where the "Crime Scene Investigators" perform in the role of "detectives", with the CSI leading the way on entry into arrest situations, etc. Honestly, I cant even recall if Petersen carries a gun. I would enjoy Miami much more, if they would put "H" into a role similar to the other two CSI Dept heads, take away his sunglasses, and give him dialogue to act out. Or else, replace him.

I would have preferred someone not quite so well known and I hope his role is a very diminished one.Show more of Nick, Greg and Brass !I think Fishburne is a big mistake !!WP will be missed big time by his fans !

The truth is, if Gary Dourdan hadn't screwed up royally, the show wouldn't be in this fix to begin with. Just because I'm a huge fan of the guy doesn't change the reality.WP is an extremely talented individual, and for such people, change and growth in their work is necessary. It's our loss, but I certainly can't blame the guy. Wonderful as he is, however, I'm not convinced that he is irreplacable.Riley doesn't thrill me much at all. I'd rather be seeing Sophia - lots more. Still, it is early days yet, and perhaps she will grow on me.LF is an incredible actor of wide scope. Ever see him in "Othello"? Absolutely incredible! I've high hopes for some great chemistry between he and Katherine, Nick, and possibly Greg and Riley. Honestly, the man is every bit as good an actor as BP - and that is saying something!Things will obviously never be the same again. Such is life. It doens't mean that it can't be good. The jury is definitely still out, and time will tell.

Catherine should have just been promoted instead of bringing someone entirely new to take over from Grissom, then we could have a new recruit meaning that time would take its course and the new 'guy' would soon begin to fit in. You replace the main guy then obviously many people are going to be withdrawl effects, I am not looking forward to him being brough in to the storyline whether he is a good actor in certain films or not. You have to be the perfect person for the role and that is what BP was, the perfect person for the job and as far as I am aware he can not be replaced.I could not imagine anyone else being Grissom from the beginning than him, replacing him at this stage is just as bad. I just don't see him fitting in with the team, I would be surprise if LF's character and Catherine get along really. But that is my own opinion, that may change when the episode comes around.

I'm not crazy about it, but, I'm going to give him a chance. This show has some of the most talented writers and producers on the face of the earth, don't forget that. Sure I'll miss Grissom, who won't? But we've still got Catherine, Nick, Greg, Brass, Riley (oh I like her!) Hodges, Henry, Wendy, Mandy, Doc Robbins, and SuperDave. We still have a VERY TALENTED core of actors/actresses here.

Another show of disappearing people. So why is Gissom leaving? I forgot or didn't catch it. I don't understandwhy Kath can't be promoted? Is it cuz of her daughter? That would mean less time? If LF is replacing Grissom,I don't think it would be the same, but I'll see what he can do. He did play many dark shows. Maybe he'll bethe dark Grissom. I always liked Grissom punch lines at the beginning of the show. The other csi tookapart of that. And CSI was the first show I ever watched which felt like the others were copycats. But i still watch them also. I've dropped CSINY. But might try to watch it again.

Hello! I´m a new member. I like CSI and i think that the show won´t be the same without Grissom. He is unique. I don´n know if LF is good enough to replase Grissom but I will watch the show anyway. CSI is great and I hope that it continues that way.

My husband told me he heard that LF is already causing problems on the set. I have a feeling that the show is going to go down hill and loose fans. Unfortunatly(sp) i think that this might be the last season. I can understand and respect billy wanting to leave. Jorja and Gary didn't really get a choice in leaving, It makes me wonder whose next?

You may never get quite the same effect from the one liners like we got from BP, you know?I will give the guy a chance and really that is all that anyone can do around here isnt it? If it doesn't work out then there is nothing more that you can do, you just have to hope that the writeres think of a great plot to put the man within! The whole original cast is going to replaced soon, you can see it coming, you just have to wait for it and see how it happens. My husband told me he heard that LF is already causing problems on the set. Already?!? Oh dear..
