I don't know if this has been discussed on another thread but I have wondered ever since "Flesh and Blood" about the families of characters. This is mywhat I know and please fill in what I have left out or erroneously stated:

Ducky:We know he has a mother and had lived with her since she is know in a home. No mention of siblings.

Gibbs: He has a father but I don't recall a mention of any mother dead or alive. No siblings either.

Tony: He has a father and step-mothers. His mother died when he was young'un. Only child and unclear if he has step-brothers/sisters.

Ziva: Father, Director of Mossad and also don't recall mention of a mother. Ari, half-brother, and younger sister; both dead.

Tim: We know he has a sister but don't know about parents or other siblings.

Abby: I don't recall any mention of family. Knowing Abby, I would be curious to see what her family would be like.

Palmer: Knows he writes home but also, no background.

We have seen more fathers than mothers. If they continue with character developments, I do hope that it's someones mother.

Gibbs had a mother but died before he joined the marines. Abby has a deaf mom but i am not sure about that dad.

Thats right i remember that now. She did mention a brother and a niece

abby- both parents are deaf

At one point, we learn that McGee was a military brat, but I forget which branch of the service his dad was in. It's between the Navy and the Marines. It's not a point that's focused on a lot, but mostely when it's convenient for the writers.

McGees father was stationed at a base in Alameda, CA when he was young, pretty sure it was the navy?

I think Abby's talked about an uncle once or twice. And in the episode Ignition, Palmer talks his mother for a minute. Also, I think Ziva has more brothers, but I'm not sure.

In "Twisted Sister" Mcgee's sister comment that she couldnt pee in a cup with a pic of there grandma on it. I also think Mcgee mentioned his parents in that ep.

After I posted this, I saw that on Season 5, Ziva mentions an aunt.

I'm watching "Hung Out To Dry" right now, and Ducky just mentioned that the last time he was this high (on a ladder) he was hanging a pinata at his nephew's birthday party. So he has to have at least one sibling too.

We really only know about mcgee and Tony

Actually they mentioned that both parents were deaf. I think she was adopted...?

Yeah McGee's Dad was Navy. In one of the episodes where McGoo is tracking the dead body from the gun the kids found, he talks extensively about how strict his dad was and how busted he would be if his dad found a magazine with women in it.

Abby has deaf parents gibbs mentions it like in the 1st season or so when they r signing to each other!! she also has a brother and a niece she talks about them to! she also tells Ducky how she tried to super glue a hard hat to his head then super glue him to a beam like in a commercial!! she does have grandparents to! one was an Olympic swimmer and i remember her telling MeGee that she always wanted a red wagon but instead her parents got her and her bro a turtle that they rode around everywhere!!
