Yes, but that was done off-camera. During "Cloak" Agent Lee refers to Ari as Ziva's brother in the presence of Tony and McGee and Ziva corrects her with, "half-brother Ari" and neither Tony and McGee react as if they didn't already know that.

We haven't been shown that they do, and hopefully it won't be done off-screen.

I always found it rather curious that during the scene that you refer to, Ziva appears to be at pains to stress that Ari was only a 'half brother'...as though she wanted to distance herself from him as much as possible. Yet in Reunion (was it?), she called him her brother and cited a strong familial bond as her reason for her previous behaviour.Convenient change of heart or just another manipulation / disregard for a character'sbackstory?{scratche s head}If the writers' intention is to confuse the viewers, they are having some success.

Eh - canon means nothing on NCIS. It's whatever is convenient for the character at the time they're writing the script. It's one of the things that has frustrated me about the show from the start - a lack of consistency with the characters. Makes it harder to care about some of them.

I'd be curious if Kate's family knows that the person that helped Ari is now working for NCIS in Kate's old position without being a qualified person.

I took it as her saying she was very close to him when she had to kill him, and later, she didn't want anything to do with the man she didn't really know and discovered. Just setting the decor.
