boxers are so amazing but as wonderful as they are they are not for everyone. as much as i loved brandy she had too much energy for me. but i still wouldn't trade a minute of those 14 years! and i know that energy level would be too much for most ppl. i now have a little mix breed dog zu/poodle who has even more energy. at least he is only 8 lbs instead of 80!well, i hope jackson has a long healthy life like brandy did!donalee

Thank you donalee13. I can't imagine my life without Jackson and don't want to. He was 4 in June so I am very hopeful we will had many years together. He is very high energy and yesterday was a cool day here in Tennessee so he was wilder than ever. I got a lot of good pictures of him yesterday. He just bounces around the yard like a rabbit! Fourteen years is awesome for a Boxer. One of my friends had to put her two down this year. They were 10 and 11. I don't even want to think about it. I love all dogs but I have only had Labs until Jackson. I love Labs too but Boxers are just my absolute favorite. Their personalities and expressions are so funny! Thanks again.

yes, 14 was a quite old age that brandy made it to! she was so healthy all her life. while she had slowed down she was still alert and had a full life. she had slowed down, not stopped. lol may be the grim reaper couldn't catch up with her. until her last day. she went outside and when she came back in i noticed she was walking funny a little. she laid down for about 10 or 15 minutes and when she got up she acted like she didn't have complete control of her back legs and started walking in tight circles. so off to the vet we went and by they time we got there less than 10 minutes later she couldn't stand and had no interested what was going on around her. less than an hour later she was gone. we don't know what happened. just think it was her time. the vet had no clues either. it was sad but i am always happy when they get to live a full happy life right up to the end and then just go quickly. i've been lucky to have a few go like that. it's so much better for them than a long illness or something like that. again, good luck to you and jackson. boxers are so wonderful. it's sad that so many have short lives. good vibes coming your way for jackson to beat the odds. btw, where in TN are you? I lived in nashville for 11 years. and so did brandy for about half her life!donalee

Thank you so much. Your story about Brandy brought tears to my eyes. The love that Boxers give you is so unconditional. They are like your child. I am serious. I would never want to see Jackson suffer and would hope that he would be so fortunate. I think I would be better off going before him. I don't think I could handle it well at all. Anybody that knows me knows Jackson. It's like a package. I work in Nashville and live in Clarksville. What a small world? Where did you live in Nashville? Where do you live now? I have a big fenced in yard for Jackson and, of course, he doesn't get out there when I am not there. I am very overprotective but I just love him so much! As you know the weather is a huge element for the Boxer and I just don't want him overheated or too cold.
