I dont think we've met the mom yet. Plus their changing the scripts weekly depending on viewers and stuff.I think there trying to introduce as many characters (female) as possible so that eventually they can fill the spot with the Yellow Umbrella...But just because "she" is there mother doesn't mean she is the one ted marrys or is still married with. Its how i met your mother, not how i met my wife. So in all honestly, i hope that the mother is a new character, but that something in the story puts him and robin together at the finale.

It can't be Robin, because the narrator refers to her as Aunt Robin. I always thought the kids looked like Robin. But is it possible she has a Canadian sister Ted hasn't met? It's almost like the lack of detail about her family is the white elephant in the room?

Ya know. I agree it's Robin's sister. In the first season, the narrator mentions this. I don't think I've heard it in later season's. I remember we met her younger sister when the gang went to the Empire State Building. But alas, strange things happen in TV Land!

I dont think the mother is Robin as i have stated before... But i said i would love for somehow Ted is with Robin at the end. For example there mother could be someone new in the show but after they had kids they divorced or never married and he eventually goes back with Robin or something. Just because hes talking about the mother of his kids does not mean that he is married to her at that moment. But thats just something i would want cuz i really want him and robin to be together.

I dont think were going to find out who the mother is until the show hits the final Finale. If they reveal the mother, then the story he tells his kids would end, or at least get boring in my opinion.

The first episode of season three ted explains to his kids about how there is more than one story to how he met their mom. He continues to say how they already know about the story with their mom and her umbrella as you see a yellow blow by in the wind. In the episode no tommorow you see a woman with a yellow umbrella waiting in line at the club she is entering and all you see is that she is wearing blue jeans, and yes the girl that ted bumps into is wearing blue jeans but if that is her is yet to be decided.

Now that the DVDs are out I have carefully looked at the person with the yellow umbrella that went into the club that night and then watched the club scene stopping constantly to check to see if any of the people in that scene match and I couldn't find a match.I forget if it was during season two or three but they have filmed one of the critical scenes for the final episode. Which means the writers know to some extent or another how it ends. I think the connections are ones that wouldn't be obvious. It will end up being random but working. I think they are trying to throw us off and progress the storyline a little bit while still leaving it open to end should the show not get picked up for another season. Also at the end of the St. Patrick's day episode he says that he did not met the mother that night so it can't be the person he bumped into at the club. (besides the fact i watched the episode over and over trying to pick up on a clue of some kind)

Dear Slick -I'm sorry that you watched the episode "No Tomorrow' over and over again attempting to pick up on some random clue. I'm also sorry but not everyone can be as awesome as the few of us in seeing the logic behind who the mom is..Not Stella.. Not Robin.. a girl who's face we haven't seen yet. Thanks for listening Now for everyone else -Please being a writer myself I understand how to progress a story.. and how to leave things as secrets.. What I meant to say from above is the "person" who is Ted's real wife will be revealed this season.. the writers don't have to reveal that it is the mom.. they can wait till the end to do that..All I'm saying.. is someone new comes along.. and that my friends will be the mom.. and it'll be the story of how he pursues her and finally wins her over. They'll leave everyone guessing till the end.. because I guarantee..The first time Ted meets his future wife.. she'll won't give him the time of day.. and probably end up hating him.

Really nothing lost by watching the episode. It was a good one, and I figured it was worth a try. I agree we haven't met the mother yet. What is interesting is that at some point in this season they are bringing back everyone that Ted met last season. This was leaked before CBS announced that they were going to bring back HIMYM. We do know that they have filmed one of the critical scences for the final episode. So for the time being the writers are messing with us, giving us clues, even some misdirection plays. They know more or less how it ends (at least in part). Matt-I am going to disagree with your statement that at first the mother wont give him the time of day. I think the show is going to end with him meeting her. Not really getting to know her. (Just like the future kids were in shock when he ended the Thanksgiving Episode at a strip club, and they thought that was the end of the story). The only way he can get away with trying to pursue the mother that wont give him a chance is if he doesn't know her name. This show is being told backwards. The kids are going to know the name of their own mother and if he mentions it then thats the end of the show.Anyways just my thoughts

Where did you find that quote? I have been searching for it but have been unable to find it or anything that says one way or the other that Season 4 is the final season?I do think that the mother will be revealed ONLY in the closing moments of the show.

that never stops them from canceling great shows. case in point arrested development getting great ratings and everything, very popular. or look at titus, awesome show funny as hell and still emotional. they always cancel great shows.

This is why I hate television and never get into any shows... because the higher ups are stupid and don't understand quality TV.IF this is indeed the last season of HIMYM.. then they better pull out all the stops.. and make this the best season EVER.I'm talking (slap bet)The REAL goat story..Barney and Robin getting together..Marshall & Ted going to a Star Wars ConventionLilly getting pregnantThis show better not get cancelled or I'll be writing to CBS.(Arrested Development is a great show.. but so was FireFly)
