Actually she made out with him. He was trying to keep a professional distance from her. Reid needs someone HE can pursue, not the other way around. (This is debated in another thread "Geeks get the girls")Definately Morgan and Garcia. (As I have stated in another thread "Garcia love triangle". )I would rather see Hotch back with Hayley.I think the relationship between JJ and Will is very cute.I can't really picture who Prentiss would be good with. And I could care less about Rossi. I would, however, like to see more of his Labrador.

I'm a new fan to CM and don't know a lot of back-story yet, but I did see this past week's episode ad since hotch is going thru these hearing problems linked to emotional strain I'm sure he's got to have another visit with the Dr. from the beginning...That'll be a nice segue into some sort of relationship, romantic or not. Can't wait for wednesday!

His hearing problems is a result of his close proximity to the explosion.

I would really prefer not to see any pairings of the team members, especially Hotch. I guess if they could spin it right it wouldn't be too much of a problem but I don't think on this show it will work. I'm not opposed to seeing them with relationships outside of work though, that would be interesting like Reid, Prentiss, Morgan

No, I get that, I saw the season premiere, But I mean the explosion coupled with losing his coworker and being duped by the young terrorists at the scene, and feeling some guilt that he can't perform at 100% yet...I think probably there is an emotional element at play as well.

wyogirl1961 wrote: We need to see a more emotional side of him. It's like you know it's in him, but we never get to see it. Very interesting. I see it all the time. Unemotional is one of the last words I'd use to describe Hotch, and throughout the series I've seen him go through a whole range of emotions. Yes, his display is subtle (because he's got a desperate need for control of himself - and even the act of controlling himself provides displays of emotion) but I've never had trouble seeing it. Quoting from two separate messages, so no one gets confused and thinks I'm thinking the first person I quoted from said this part: to make him a bit less one dimensioanal Sorry, red headed doctor is way too late for that. Actually, she never would have been in time. Since he's never been one dimensional, it's impossible for her to make him less so. I don't ship them, but theoretically, if they wanted to, she could provide him with a personal life, or make him less tense (although why Hotch would be different just because he's in a relationship, I don't understand. He's not going to stop being Hotch), or keep him in line (fail to see the attraction of that) or even maybe make him happy. But, since he's always been three dimensional, red headed will have to find something that he actually lacks.

I agree with Bessie_Mae. Hotch has shown a lot of emotions. He is a very compassionate man, he shows various emotions when analyzing crime scenes, victims, criminals but doesn't act on those emotions. A true professional. He goes out of his way for the victims and takes their pain & loss personally. Just to name two: the scene in the intensive care unit where he visited the only surviving arson victim, his argument with Strauss when he put it all out for the team. I'm surprised some of you can't see that. Perhaps his professionalism, his posture, self control, quiet nature distracts from it a bit but keep in mind he's the leader of the team, the # 1 profiler of the FBI.Lots of the pairings above sound like fun. I'd be ok with it as long as it doesn't take away from the show. There are enough soap operas on TV already. I don't get the hype about the doc, really don't but then we all have our tastes. I just don't think she did her job well otherwise I don't have anything against her. Perhaps my standards are too high but then again I compare her role to a real life FBI doc and she's fallen short. My sister who's a trauma surgeon was also pretty disappointed of her. She said she'd never given Hotch the ok.

Again, television is not about replicating the real world. Television is a medium whereby dramatic license is taken in order to elicit specific emotional responses from viewers. Doctors, lawyers, cops and other professionals on TV seldom do their job in the way a real life professional does. If they did, it would not be particularly interesting, and there would be no reason to tune in. But, because TV offers a heightened reality, structured to seem familiar but at the same time to catch us off guard, we keep watching, because we love the surprise. To expect a TV doctor to do what your physician does, is just not understanding that you are watching TELEVISION. The doctor existed so that the viewers could get a diagnosis for Hotch. She was not written in to control him, or stop him from doing his job. And if they end up liking each other, so be it.

Bessie Mae, would you please explain the term "ship them"? I think I understand it, but, where does it come from? Thanks.

@Mysterygurl: It took me a while too but it's short for relationship ...@ Soveit: Sorry, I gotta correct you here. The producers and writers have been very driven to make CM real-life like. They have said so numerous times in interviews. That's why they have real BAU profilers consulting on the show. So far they've done an excellent job profiling the "serial killers." I have not detected any mistakes in describing the psychotic and sociopathic personality types of the killers. I'm very impressed especially considering how many poorly researched shows there are. The doc was portrayed as weak on purpose because your regular FBI doc wouldn't have taken Hotch's BS about being ok in the field. Also, she WAS in control of Hotch getting back on the job. That's her JOB! That's exactly why the FBI requires their agent who've been in shoot-outs or accidents undergo medical and psyche evals. If you don't pass there's NOTHING you can do to override the docs recommendation. Again, it's a liablity issue. Let's not water down this show unnecessarily just so some folks can drool over that doctor again. Geez, she's not part of the main cast anyway. I'm sure you'll see her again one day and if she's any good she may even have a more permanent role in the near future (I doubt though on this show).

Yeah, doctor's not going to be part of the main cast (and they're the only permanent people on the show) of this show. Best anyone who wants her around can hope for is that she becomes a recurring character. Think like Haley. Because this is a show about one BAU team. That means the only permanent characters are the people on the team. And, yes, shipping means wanting two characters in a romantic (use that term for anything from dating to sex to hearts and flowers) relationship. Thinking two people make a good couple means you ship them.

Definitely Reed and Prentiss ... I know it sounds goofy, but it makes sense if you think about it. She's got the need to take care of someone and he needs taken care of. Plus, I think they would have good chemistry and it would be a shocker that would grab the viewers attention.

While I do ship Emily/JJ (hence the JEm) I don't know if I'd want to see it onscreen. I don't think I want any of them to get involved with each other. As for outside relationships, I don't like the actor that plays the Crawfish (Will) so I'm never going to like him. I'm just not. I don't really mind Kevin, though I do object to them making him a stereotype. Not all computer savy persons wear paisley and forget to wash their hair for weeks on end. I did like Hailey, before she suddenly went evil. I'm not really looking for romance from my psychological drama. I'm just not a fan of the romance genre, in general. So, no, I don't want any pairings.

I don't mind it if it's in the background and it's in the show. I'm not a fanfic fan. I would ship Emily and Reid though because they are compatable...she'd play the traditional male role though and him the female lol.Potential ships as I would see them, not many of the main characters are compatable romantically imho. It would be interesting to see how ppl feel about certain characters together..even if they don't ship as a rule.Hotch/Emily - too similarHotch/JJ - No real romantic chemistryHotch/Garcia - No romantic chemistryHotch/any of the guys - Hotch has never given any sign that he swings that way so unless the show changes his character totally, he's straight.Emily/Reid - yes I think it's workableEmily/Rossi - It could possibly work I guess Emily/Morgan - both too headstrongEmily/any of the girls - as far as I can see (same with Hotch) Emily is heteroReid/JJ - totally incompatableReid/Garcia - like siblingsReid/any of the guys - Reid is a bit girly but in the show so far he's not shown any sexual interest in other men.JJ/Rossi - No lolJJ/Morgan - No real sexual chemistryJJ/any of the girls - as far as I know she's straight.Morgan/Garcia - would make a great couple but I don't think she's his type. Morgan/any of the guys - he's straight so noGarcia/any of the girls - she's straight in the show so far.Not sure if I've missed any out.
