I agree with you that the appeal of The Unit is the covert operations and danger that exists in Special Forces. They had a good formula and now they have messed it up. I hope the writers get this show back on track and minimize the homefront storylines and ditch the female operator. Can't we just have a show about men for a change? I'll still watch The Unit as long as Max Martini is in it. But I would enjoy it more if they stuck to the covert missions. The last episode, Dancing Lessons, had me wondering if I was watching Desperate Housewives by mistake.

sniper483 wrote: It seems like everyone hates Kim Brown. Not me... yes she is a bit whiny and she complains a lot. But she is also resourceful and intelligent. As an example, consider how she handled nearly being raped in the radio station. She kept her head and managed to get the station manager's attention. Until season four, she was the only wife that actually participated on a mission with Bob (in Season 1). While she complains, she is also loyal and evidently really loves her husband (as does Molly Blain). The wife I despise is the series "hottie". I find if fascinating how everyone just blows past the fact that Tiffy is a lying, conniving, manipulating adulteress who is betraying a man who regularly puts his life on the line to serve and protect his country. She is also abrasive, self-righteous, sanctimonious and spiteful. She is constantly looking for an opportunity to "trade-up" for a better spouse. Her leftie lawyer or Col. Tom Ryan... hell I wouldn't be surprised if she went for the sleazy titty-bar owner. Her current plan seems to be, on advice of council, to ambush Mack with her own divorce notice and attempt to gain sole custody of her daughters (who seem to really love their Dad). At least Mack never threatened that when he was pursuing his own threat of divorce. Also, while the colonel is a despicable officer with only sporadic honor, at least he was faithful to his wife until she betrayed him and the Unit. Tiffy seems to go running back to Ryan every time. She actively attempts to seduce him and the miserable bastard hasn't got the gonads to send her packing once and for all. This latest resurgence of their affair seems based on Ryan's divorce and Tiffy's impending divorce. Regardless, they are both betraying Mack and to me that is intolerable. Now, while the Unit's code is to kill an officer that sleeps with a shooter's wife, I can't personally justify murder as punishment for adultery. However, Ryan should be brought up on charges and dishonorably discharged from the Army. Mack and Tiffy should get divorced (with joint custody) since their relationship has been dysfunctional from the very beginning. Let Tiffy be someone else's problem as it is obvious she won't be faithful to any spouse no matter how rich or attentive. She will always find a way to rationalize and excuse her betrayals. As I have read other posters’ comments I must conclude that our society is so devoid of values that as long as someone has an attractive face and body we are willing to excuse them from the demands of common decency. So for myself, other than her physical appearance, I find Tiffy to be obnoxious and without any redeeming qualities. I would also render the same judgment on her traitorous partner in adultery, the snarling Col. Ryan.
I Could not agree more. I liked Tiffy in Season 2 when she seemed to really be tring to save her marriage and acted like she loved Mack. But I can't stand her, just the fact that she would try and steal the kids from him, and that she can cheat on him, when all he is doing is putting his life on the line for his country, family, and providing for his family, just gets under my skin. Mack is by no means perfect he had faltered but to do it with his commanding officer for years over and over. His kids adore him, and he them, as he does his wife. I think they should have gone a different way with her, to me she should be gone.

Now I like Mack as much as the next person but all this blind adulation is misplaced. Let's not forget he has physically abused her in the past and this latest incident with the gun is emotional and psychological abuse, poor and simple. I agree these two should separate but TIFFY is not the only one at fault here. They both are responsible for the state of their marriage.Nyn

I Think the gun was just part of the act. He would have never shot himself. He just used his training as he would have in his jobs. It was only to get her to admit to what she had done! I like this show really well. The show is a welcome change from Detective Shows and Reality Shows. Give me more shows like the unit over shows like "the mentalists, Law and Order, and court room dramas. I would rather Watch The Unit any day than Clorice Leachman dance or watching someone on a deserted island eating worms. The Unit is by far more entertaining!

Get the women out of the episodes. This is supposed to be about the unit men with a bit of the wives added. They should not be the main story line on any of the episodes. It is stupid to think that the Army would be authorized to have the wives help out in a mission. They dont have any security clearance there fore they could not participate in a covert military operation. The story lines are getting far fetched, when this show started it was a seemingly believeable series about a covert military unit while showing some of the struggles the wives go through at home.

+1, in a big way. This show used to be (first two seasons) pretty good. It's becoming more apparent that the writers were not only never in special ops, but probably were never even in the Army. HEY WRITERS! THIS SHOW IS SUPPOSED TO BE ABOUT THE SOLDIERS GOING ON MISSIONS. IF YOU REALLY THINK THE WIVES GO ON MISSIONS WITH THEIR HUSBANDS, YOU'RE IDIOTS AND NEED TO BE FIRED AND REPLACED BY SOMEBODY WITH A CLUE. I've watched this show faithfully from the very beginning, but I'm just about done with it. It's sad, because this show has a lot of potential.

**** Tiffy discuss with Mrs.Ryan about Mac *****Mrs.Ryan:What do you need?Tiffy:I'd like you to speak to your husband on my behalf.Mrs.Ryan:About what?Tiffy:About Mack. You told me once, if there was anything you could do...Well, now, there is. There's something you can do.Mrs.Ryan:All right.Tiffy:Mack came home from a mission.A long one.And he came home...Mrs.Ryan:Yes?Tiffy: He came home changed. But if I were to go to your husband, the colonel...And register a concern, say your husband has changed, then it's official.Mrs.Ryan:Yes.Psych evaluations, a meddlesome wife,And the end of Mack's career.Tiffy:Yes, that's right.Mrs.Ryan:So, instead?Tiffy: Instead, could you express a general concern? From your own recent observations.Ask your husband to talk to Mack, and get Mack to talk to someone else.Mrs.Ryan:He won't talk to you?Tiffy: No.Mrs.Ryan:I see.I'm so happy to be able to do something for you,to begin to pay you back.Very happy.**** firs of all, Tiffy loves Mac,Secondly, if this Mrs.Ryan were Mr.Ryan,so the Affair begin.I think for this reason , Tiffy and Ryan's affair began***

This show does touch on some of the realities of married life in such a situation, but it doesn't really go too deeply. Think of the kind of men who become special forces. The military is still oriented to the male psyche, and the men are expected to keep their wives "under control" so as not to cause "trouble" for or bring attention to the men. The wives in this show respond to the isolation (Unit-only friends) and loneliness and stress and secrecy and plethora of rules by acting like children ("Kim Brown") or becoming perfect, super-responsible ones ("Molly Brown") or they rebel ("Tiffany"). Notice they are paired up with men in the show who understand/relate to those behaviors. The women express the emotion for the men. If these characters didn't "whine" or take charge or rebel, etc., they would be cartoon characters and that would be ridiculous. I just hope the show can portray some creative or uplifting ways to resolve some of these problems. Otherwise, the divorce rate on The Unit is going to be pretty high, just like it actually is in the military, and who wants to watch that?

I really hate to slurp this 'hater-ade' and confess (because I like Molly's character to an extent...) but I am 'uber-jealous' that she is the REAL MRS. BLANE! The relationship between she and Jonas a.k.a Snake Doctor seems forced and more of an arrangement rather than a passionate relationship. Though Jonas has been unfaithful in the guise of a mission (remember the Hispanic undercover agent??), I don't think that he'd ever step out on Molly b.c. he is a disciplined and committed man and I'd say a creature of habit when it comes to his home life. But their bland, vanilla, uninspiring hum-drum marriage puts her on the top of my list as least favorite from that perspective.Snake Doc is FINE! Molly!!! TAKE FULL ADVANTAGE...you ARE in good hands!

I like all the wives on this show . I like the feistiness of Kim, the strength of Molly, and vibrancy of Tiffy . All three while not always given the best material always give outstanding performances and always deliver !

Yes, they all three are excellent actresses. But, like in real life we tend to be drawn to certain types of people, we are also drawn to certain types of characters on TV shows. Personally, I am drawn to the Kim Brown character. Molly is too pushy and nosy for me. And I have no use for adulterous women.

Dump the broads. Their stories are stupid, have nothing to do with the unit and are generally a waste of video tape and time.
