I appreciated the JOSEPH CAMPBELL discussion about Star Wars. The whole pilot was fantastic this year!

The best moment in all of HIMYM history is without a doubt the end of the Slapsgiving episode. The countdown, it's gonna happen, it's not gonna happen, then it does and it's slaptacular, not to mention it's only slap number 3 of a series of 5 slaps (when are the next two coming? I'm dying to see it!) It's awesome that it's a continuation of other previous episodes' storylines, and a precursor for more to come. But back to the episode, it's amazing when the slap occurs, and then the song, OMG the song! Marshall actually plays the piano and sings his song and Barney chimes in with his "oh's" It's so pricelessly perfect, and that moment is major awesomeness! (Everyone in unison say "Major Awesomeness!" and salute)

I'd say definitely season 1 finale, beginning with Ted making rain and Marshall left alone... that is such a breathtaking moment in the series, I mean there are tons of great moments but that one came to my mind at first.

The song at the end of Slapsgiving is amazing... especially when Barney sings harmony. Also in the first episode of Season 3 when they are all trying to say Gael´s name. Ted: So I´m sorry... it´s Gayle? Barney: Kyle?Marshall: Girl?Robin: It´s pronounced Guy-el... Gael: It means joyful... That is how I live my life... Ted: So I´m sorry... it´s Gayle?"In "Miracles" when the pencil goes up Barney´s nose. Almost fell off my bed when that happened, I was laughing so hard. And Marshall´s songs from "Spoiler Alert"... "Going down to the basement today, with my laundry and a bag of quarters. But I´m back to soon because I left the room without detergent and the fabric softner." Incredible. All of these are from Season 3 because I just happen to be watching that Season now so it´s fresh on my mind haha.

My favorite moment would be the "sandwich eating" at the 20th college reunion (season 3, episode 5)...When Marshall goes to Lily: "Baby, can we grow sandwiches behind the garage?"

my absolute favorite episodeis from season one the very first show. from the opening scene and every episode until they cancel the show in the future. they are all so good and well written that it is not easy to pick one show at all. so i will rewatch each and every show until i come up with a favorite show for each season

My top favorite episodes from the past 3 seasons are: S01E01 Pilot - the twist of the Robin being the kids aunt and not the mother is awesome! It got me hooked on the show from the very first episode! S01E19 Mary the Paralegal - the entire situation with Mary is brilliant! S03E01 Wait for it - the beard + the Ga-el name dialogue + Marshall crush + the tramp stamp + the way Ted won the break-up is pure pure comedy! S03E05 How I Met Everyone Else - first of all because this episode is the corner stone of my theory of how the show will end! (but that is something for another thread) Plus the how Barney met Ted and the growing sandwiches is fantastic!

For me, the most well written part in an episode is the final minutes of "Life Among the Gorillas" from season 1. After all the scenarios Blauman and Bilson give Marshal throughout the episode ending with "Go"; turning the final voiceover into a real life scenario and cutting to a blank screen with the final word of the episode being "Go" was complete television excellence. I still get shivers.Another favorite is Okay Awesome because, even though it is meant to be over the top, it is so true to life. Everything from taking forever to order a drink to not being able to talk over the crazy techno music is so true about crowded clubs.
