Well, they don't want him getting involved in anything. I bet he'll play a big part later in the episode, like break down the mind of Jason Alexander and long locks of silver.

Well, I was too busy watching to chat. I'm surprised that I enjoyed it. At a few points, Jason Alexander was off in his acting, but for the most part he did an excellent job. And, they didn't Frankie Muniz him (meaning they didn't hide the actual cast in a closet for 90% of the episode to showcase a guest star like True Night did). It wasn't because they didn't like Reid that they didn't let him into the interrogation room. It was because it would have been playing into the killer's hands to give him what he wanted -which was having Reid there. And, even though this had a ton of Rossi, I enjoyed it, because Rothschild kept mocking him, telling him how unintelligent he was -and yes, Rossi is arrogant. That's why he got so upset when he thought Hotch was saying the guy was smarter than him. So, a clear flaw in Mary Sue Rossi. Now another thing to hate him for. Makes me happy. I'll give my other impressions later, but I did think it was an enjoyably creepy hour.

I am glad to see Kevin back. I thought it was funny when Hotch told Kevin he could visit when Garcia was not busy. Kevin stood their and Hotch was like she’s busy now. I love Morgan and I was glad to see him apologize and tell Todd she is part of the team. It was funny to see Rossi insecure. Over all I really did not like the episode, like I said in the other chat, “ I am going to have to watch the episode again to see what everyone really liked about it.”

I really liked this episode, and thought Alexander did a good job. I must admit, I spent alot of time looking at his hair line though...lol. They did a great job with the hair.Well, after getting a little more with Agent Todd, I still am having a hard time really liking her. I don't know why exactly, just don't, but I hope it gets better with more time. The only thing I feel was a bummer is that, again I didn't get enough of Hotch and Emily. While I have always been a big Reid fan, and I do like Rossi, frankly for me, enough already.... I sort of, have had my fill of both. I'd hope the next few episodes are different. And why is Rossi seem like the main focus so much? But, that's just my take on it. I will say Rossi has been doing a good job, but I have always preferred Hotch. And lately, Rossi as well as Reid, imo have been the center of sorts, for me it's sort of like the "R & R" show..

I'm still giving Todd a chance. Part of me feels the writing was designed to manipulate people not to like her, and I dig my heels in and refuse to be manipulated. And, it's so silly to try and get people to dislike her, considering she's temporary. On the other hand, why should she be perfect? Maybe everyone wouldn't have been snippy under pressure, but we've all had our unpleasant moments in different areas, and what better way to show just how good JJ is then to show how much harder it is for someone with not enough preparation? Although, I hope Todd doesn't have too many more problems. She might struggle a little, but there's no need for her to be incompetent. And, she does have one quality I greatly admire in a person. The ability to admit that she was wrong and to apologize. So, yeah, still not disliking her.Kind of knew there was going to be a lot of Rossi, so I was prepared. But, the Hotch moments, while not a lot, were pretty good. Telling Kevin that he could visit when Garcia wasn't busy, and then, "She's busy now." And, even though he was slightly confused by Whirlwind Todd, I thought it was funny how he had no trouble saying, "I can promise you that" when she asked if he'd tell her if he wasn't satisfied with her performance. And, of course, the hint that Hotch's insomnia is still going on. But, I realize Hotch hasn't really had any case solving insights this season. That's why I want that man in an interrogation room this season -but Legacy or Seven Seconds style, not Damaged style.Takes a little bit of the bloom off realizing Rossi's biggest blunder (assuming all 5 kidnapped victims would die at once) didn't matter, since they weren't in danger. Oh, well, I'll still enjoy it since they did assume that one of them died until the real plan unfolded.Oh, and one thing about Kevin - he needs to grow his hair out! To "Penelope" length.

No matter how good Joe Mantegna is (and he is good) he's still a fragment of the actor that Mandy Patinkin is. Still, the show is so good, that Mandy's absence has allowed other characters to grow and probably rounded out the writing. Joe has to have a strong ego to follow where Mandy P. left off.

That's a very good point... and I guess in the back of my mind I may feel assured in that. That final scene with Todd and Morgan as they walked back to the SUV, I missed what their convo was about. Can you tell me? And Hotch in this episode I noticed more than any other previously, for me he seemed alot less ridged. He is sure becoming more... like relaxed...?(I'm not sure if that's the word I looking for) More joking, like the scene you mentioned with Garcia and Kevin, which made me laugh out loud. His humor, still so relatively conservative, just cracked me up. He seems to be doing that a little more and a little more this season. Not that I don't enjoy it though, cause I do, it just is very noticeable to me, and I guess, strikes me as a little different from the Hotch I've come to expect.
