I'm in Spain (Europe) we are now at the first episodes of 9th season but i've watch the others (1 to 9) in the web. I can't understand why they want to kill the show, if Grissom leaves, Fishburne is not the man who will make us feel the same way. Are they going just to murder CSI Las Vegas?. Think a little bit please, you're going to loose your fans. We know things change, but not the essential ones. No Warrick, well we can go on about that. No Sarah...we're just trying to make it work. But NO GRISSOM? That's absurd, really, if he's going away, just kill everyone and finish the hole thing. Fishburne is a great actor, but he's not the one who can make the group work for us. I've talk with friends here, in my country, everyone thinks that CSI Las Vegas will be no more CSI LV without Grissom. Just change the name, will be better for all us.

mmpoliak wrote: I thought it was severely depressing. This last episode was by far the best one of this season but when Gris told David he was going to miss him and David started to cry, We will miss you Billy. You have raised the bar for all crime drama. Good Luck on the stage. We all know that is where your heart is.
I think most fans will miss Dr. Gilbert Poindexter Grissom. I shall miss most of all his straw donkey hat that Gilbert bought off this dumb Mexican Mule for 3 pesos. The reason Gilbert wears that straw hat is to cover up his big donkey ears. I think they will need to put some type of mask on Lawrence Fishburnes face to cover up his big banana nose, otherwise if when he is at the Las Vegas ZOO for any type of crime investigation, the monkies will mistake his big nose for a banana. THE CSI authorities hired Lawrence Fishburne because of his big blood hound nose to sniff the bad guys out. I think in one episode of CSI is when they paint his nose yellow and his nose is acting undercover as a banana in a grocery store that is being robbed all the time.

General reply, directed at no individual in particular:I like the Grissom character as much as anyone, and I'm going to miss him like crazy. I can't understand all the wailing and gnashing of teeth, however. "Make him stay", "don't let him go", "do whatever it takes", "Oh, woe is me", "the show is doomed".......what do folks suggest? That William Petersen be denied the right to make his own career decisions? That he be chained in the CSI basement and forced to continue when he feels the time has come for him to stretch his craft and talents by other means, and in different directions? Grissom is a character - and an awsome one. But Petersen is a man - a real one, with a real life to live.I wish him nothing but the best, and thank him for the gift he's given the fans of CSI for nearly a decade. He'll be incredible, no matter which route his career path takes. As a fan of the show, and not just the fan of a character or two, I'll continue watching.

^ you just took the words right out of my mouth (or should I say typed them right out of my fingers?). Anyway, I agree that the show isn't going to be the same with Grissom gone, but I don't think his leaving will kill the whole thing. It's just going to go in a different direction. I don't really know what to expect, but I'm sure it will still be good.

sorry, but Gil IS this show. This has been the best show on television - but if he leaves, there is no more CSI.

i think grissom will leave to be with sara...wherever she is. maybe they will go to the galapagos islands or to the rainforest or at least on a much needed vacation together. maybe they'll stroll into a quickie drive-thru wedding chapel and finally tie the knot before taking their vacation.but no matter where they go, as long as GSR is alive, well, and happy, then i will be too.best of luck to Billy Petersen and all that awaits him. he will be greatly missed.

I agree. (Very well said btw). I will have a hard time watching the show without Jorja, Billy and Gary, but, I am going to try it out. I think that L. Fishbourne's character will be interesting and put a new twist in the story line. I personally can't wait to go to Chicago (later this year) and see Billy on stage. It will be fun seeing him doing more of what he loves the most. As far as where Grissom ends up, I hope he ends up with Sara, and we all know that Billy has agreed to come back for some episodes. I hope Jorja has too. It will be an interesting change. I think that Billy's departure was tastefully written. I appreciate how each character is being shown with Grissom, showing how their life will be changed without him and the effect that his leaving has on them. It finally shows his humanity and how he has matured emotionally.

You know I think he will be back once the show falls I think he will come back he needs a brake from the show now . He has a stake in this show he will do what he can to keep it in the top ten. So I for one think he will return.
