Congratulations Dana! I bought my house two years ago, and I still remember the thrill of finding just the right house. I hope the deal goes through without any problems for you!!

Now he does the Rick Mercer Report. He's a laugh riot, and an excellent example of the Newfoundland accent. One thing about Canada, any Canadian can tell where another Canadian is from by their accent. When I was in Winnipeg, I stepped out of the car and simply said, "hey, how're you doing? Thanks so much," and he said "Welcome, all the way from Toronto, huh?" Ah, Canada. I guess all countries are like that

I've never heard of Rick Mercer before. He's really funny though. Hmm... Actually I think someone mentioned him to me before.

He's big in Canada apparently, he's pretty funny, that clip I linked was from a show called "This hour has 22 minutes" which was a spoof news show similar to the daily show but a bit more wacky...

TN we're a little like that but not so specific, for example no one can tell exactly where I'm from, Oregonians, Idahoers, Californians and Washingtonians all recognize me as a foreigner, everyone else in the country thinks I'm from the west coast... ok so near Toronto do those with a heavy accent, instead of saying "Aboot" like most americans think say, "Aboat" ?

Alright my cute and fuzzy buddies, I'm out for the night. Books to read, poems to write, and quotes to mull over. See you all tomorrow.

LOL...indeed not. I have yet to hear any Canadian say, "aboot". I guess the most sterotypical Canadian accent is the east coast/maritime accent, it's quite distinctive. A girlfriend of mine is from Newfoundland and her accent is so thick whole words sound different. One time when we had enjoyed a few drinks and we could barely figure out what she was saying at all! It's hard to describe what a Toronto accent sounds like. Nothing spectacular in my mind, but then you go a few hours north and you hear how they speak with a northern Ontario accent and you start to hear your own. Funny how these things work.

.

Night, artsy!
