The Young and the Restless

I think as much as it might hurt, I think Lane is over. The writing has been on the wall for months. Why do they have Cane, who just finished a storyline with obsesses Amber, do the exact storyline again. The only reason is that the writers knew they would pair up Cane and Chloe. Also in one of DG's interview, he said that he thought that a pairing of Chloe and Cane would be hot. Also with the rise in popularity of the character of Cane, I just knew they would never let him end up with Lily.What I resent, is how they did it. They have Lily giving up Cane to a schemer, so that Cane can remain the "good guy." They have Lane fans waiting around looking for any little signs between Cane and Lily to see if they will get back together. The writers think they have written the perfect story...for the haters of Lane, the break up and a Cane and Chloe pairing and for the lovers of Lane the anticipation of them getting back together.(which might never happen...remember how long the face cream story has been going on)However, there will come a point where I don't care if Lily gets back with Cane. Once Cane marries Chloe, it is the beginning of the end for me. I didn't care for Cane(or notice him)with Amber and I am positive I will not like him with Chloe...especially if he starts to develop feelings for her. Already in the coming weeks, we will start getting more about Chloe's terrible family life..so that fans and Cane can start feeling sorry for her. Well not this fan...I gave up DOOL when it became unrealistic and the stories felt like they were being written for idiots...and I will give up on this soap too. There is no redeeming Chloe for me and there is no redeeming how crappy this storyline has been.Lane is not the only reason I will stop watching. The writers have these characters acting so out of character that I don't recognize them. Jill saying what she said on today and tomorrow show and Colleen sleeping with her best friend ex-husband for revenge.Also how unbelievable was it that Michael's father just turns up at the wedding. Please get better writers.The outcome of Cane and Lily could change with all the negative reactions from fans and the press...remember Sabrina is gone because of the negative reaction and low ratings. However, by the time they get around to changing this storyline, who will be around to care.[/size][/size]

I think that they will get back together eventually, I think Barbara Bloom needs her centerpiece to be able to stand alone and then we'll get Lane back. I hate this new character and and done with Y&R until someone figures out what the fans really want to see.
