I really like Ryan a lot. It seems as though Horatio isn't very fond of him, and sort of keeps him at a distance. He calls him "Mr. Wolfe," instead of his first name. ANy ideas on this?

Maybe he thinks of him as an actual wolf. Maybe he thinks how he tackles evidence and gets it done. Notsure precisely why, but interesting concept. I was so hoping he wasn't the enemy and found out he was helpingHoracio when he was gunned down. When they kept everyone else in the dark but not Wolfe. That wasgreat!

I am so glad you asked; I was wondering myself. But as I think about it, the only main ones he calls by the first name are Eric and Calleigh; otherwise, it is Mr. Wolfe; Ms. BoaVista; Ms. Valera. He used to call the ME Alexx. Maybe it is a command thing; only calls them by their first name if they are the closest to him?

I think H. is majorly disappointed in Ryan. H. personally picked him and he faced such a let down with him. H. is forgiving and he'll give you a second chance, but once you fail to live up to his expectation it's "trust but, verify". I think Ryan is permanently on that list...........

My professor always told us that addressing someone with the title "Mr.", "Mrs.", or "Miss." is a sign of respect. At the beginning, Horatio may have been addressing Ryan as Mr.Wolfe as to distance himself from the guy who was replacing Speed but as time goes on, Horatio began to see Ryan as an equal. In Ryan, he found someone who was ambitious but has a good heart. In many ways, Ryan is like a mini-me version of Horatio. I guess Horatio saw Ryan as someone who is going to turn out like himself so the only way, I guess, to discourage Ryan from that is to somehow become an animosity in Ryan's professional life. Not that there's anything wrong with Horatio but you got to admit, the things he has seen made him a hard person and I guess he doesn't want any of his team to become like him.Eric is a logical choice of becoming like Horatio but to me, he just tries too hard. It's like he's not exactly comfortable with his own theories and opinions and instead looks to Horatio for things that he could easily have solve himself. He just tries too hard to become someone that he isn't exactly suited for nor be prepared for. Calleigh is too much like Horatio but I confess, she throws me off sometimes. I like the quiet, sure way that she asserts herself into her work but she is too stiff for me to appreciate her. I appreciate the work but if she could be a little more human instead of like a mannequin, then that would be greatly appreciated. Overall, Ryan Wolfe is a good guy with good intentions. Everything about him just screams success. He's like Horatio: Quiet, observant, wholesome, and when the situation is called for, would do whatever it takes to ensure the safety of himself and others. Personally, I don't get why people just don't like Ryan Wolfe. To me, he is the best thing that has happened to CSI:MIAMI. That is my opinion so don't flame me.

I personally don't dislike him he's kinda neutral to me. I'm not so sure about the assessment of him being like Horatio. I don't think he's like him at all. One thing Horatio is not and that's a liar. Ryan has proven that he is capable of that and once one is caught in a lie it's hard to go back and it's difficult for people to once again trust you.

I agree quite a bit with jaywolfe's assessment.Horatio see's something in Ryan Wolfe.Ryan is not on Horatio's list.He was disappointed in Ryan's actions, but saw it as a mistake that could be overcome and he could learn from.. It is the reason H worked to get him reinstated.Horatio has mentioned more than once that the type of work is in his blood.Horatio probably became the man he is today making a few mistakes along the way,as is Ryan.I find all of the characters have flaws. How they are perceived or taken seems to depend of the popularity of the character with the poster.Ryan did lie ,but he has kept a low profile since, and has tried to be a team player.Fortunately Horatio see's what he is capable of.Perhaps if the character were a little more developed, people would cut him some slack, or at least overlook his flaws as they do some of the other characters.

If Horatio didn't like Wolfe, he wouldn't have stepped up to bat for him to get him re-instated. Nor would he have asked him to help with him going underground earlier this season.

Wow, where did all this come from? I think about 3 weeks ago the same topic came up, about "Mr.Wolfe." It's probably on one of the other pages if you want to take a look.
