Who do you think would be the best person to play Sheldon's mom?I say it should be Roseanne Barr. That would be hilarious!

I think Laurie Metcalf already does a good job, so I say let's keep Laurie.

Laurie plays his mom? Doesn't sound remotely like her. Strange. I've never looked atthe credits of the others so that's why I didn't know. Well, they have Sara so why notLaurie too. Bring in Roseanne, she would make a great character on BBT.

Sheldons mom already appeared in Big Bang Theory season one episode four. Laurie Metcalf played her, and did a great job. She was very funny.

I say keep Laurie Metcalf. She's a great actress. Also, when I picture Sheldon's mom, I see her in my head, like during the scene in last night's episode when he was talking to "mom" on the phone, I pictured her.

Laurie Metcalf was in the The Luminous Fish Effect--October 2007 --Season 1, Episode 4--Her name was Mary.Sheldon's Christian-fundamentalist mother visits to get him out of the funk he's in after he is fired for being disrespectful toward his new boss.

It was "The Luminous Fish Effect" from Season 1 (aired in the fall of 2007 I think) -- Sheldon got fired from his job and ended up doing strange things like glow in the dark fish and weaving ponchos (or whatever he called them).Leonard got really concerned so he called Mary Cooper, Sheldon's mom, to come help. That sort of upset Sheldon, needless to say. The gang was very surprised to find Mary was a down-to-earth Mom, and a devout Christian who talked a lot about Jesus. If I remember correctly, Mary went down to CalTech to get Sheldon's job back.Laurie Metcalf was cast in the role.

oh, okay. I'll have to watch that episode. I started with 5 and up thinking I've seen theothers. I like Laurie. She's great. She'd make a good mom for anyone.
