JSRforever wrote: I certainly have no problems having the writers focus more on Jack and Samantha, especially since its creator Hank Steinberg wrote their backstory due to its actor natural chemistry. I've always gotten the impression that their relationship and their work in missing person's unit were parallel. Therefore, I have no issues with it being Without A Trace: The Jack Malone Show co-starring Sam Spade My understanding was that Steinberg intended Martin/Sam as the big romance on the show. They didn't expect the show to go beyond 3 seasons or so, so that would have been a reasonable timeline. When Hank and Ed "left" it was by then obvious the show had at least 5 seasons in it so the new boys had to make a decision and they chopped M/S at the end of Season 3. Who knows there may even have been some influence from the actors in the decision.

No I don't think it is unfair. In real life, he would have been fired. I am tired of all his personal angst. Who really cares now? The entire show is about his problems and it's time for all of that to stop. It's boring. Also, it seems as if Jack and Samantha are the only ones on the show. For goodness sake, this character has already slept with Jack and Martin. Is it time for her to sleep with Danny? I realize that sex sells, but I thought this show was about finding people, not about Jack. The only thing I can see that this character contributes is violating people's right and roughing everyone up. If a public official treated me the way Jack treats some of the character on this show, I would sue the organization. Also, his haircut looks like hell.

So you would like to see a show where the agents perform like robots week in and week out with no indication that this stressful job affects how they act? Jack's tactics have become more and more questionable over the seasons as a way of showing us that he is being personally affected by the events around him. Shocking! A tv character acting like a real, flawed human being! It's called character development. If you want to watch a crime procedural with no character development, go watch Law & Order. In the meantime, I'll stick with my flawed and immensely interesting Jack.In case you haven't already figured it out, I care about Jack and so do a lot of other fans. I won't even dignify your haircut comment with a response.

I understand sophia POV becouse recently it's TOO much Jack.I get that he is the leader and he was one of my favorites but there is so much about danny,Viv and martin that I want to know and there is never time becouse of it.Balance helps ratings becouse everyone is satisfied , not just Jack fans.

Now I do understand that not everyone is a rabid Jack fan like me and while I was happy with the Jack-centric story, some folks might not be. But I think that story really climaxed at the end of last season and I do think that some more attention does need to be focused on the other characters now to make things balance out a bit. I like all the characters on the team and I especially love the chemistry between them. That being said, what I take exception to is the tone of sophia's post. There are ways of making your opinion known (see above) without trashing someone else's favorite character. Don't be a Troll, if you can't say something nicely, don't say it at all. Let's keep things civil around here, mmkay?

Are you kidding? What kind of a STUPID QUESTION is this??? I think this is why the show's ratings have dropped! Enough with this guy and his issues. He's ridiculously out of line and I'm tired of having my intelligence and tolerance for all things Jack tried and tried. If it weren't for the OTHER CAST MEMBERS - yeah, remember those? I'd have so been gone from this show. I hope TPTB get their act together and KEEP STEVEN WEBBER ON 4EVER!!

Well, so much for civility. I knew that was way too much to ask for on a public board. Let the Trolling begin!Btw, it's Steven WEBER, not WEBBER. If you are going to come here and rant like a braying donkey, at least learn to spell the actors names correctly.

Strong feelings on the subject matter are one thing but a post isn't going to convince, persuade or, quite frankly, get anyone to take what is said seriously when the language is filled with venom. It says more about the author than the content. Just not cool.

Thank you JenniFF. We all have our differing opinions out there and as much as I am a rabid Jack fan, there are those of you that are just as rabid about your favorite character. What unites us is our love of a really great TV show. Debate is fine, but there's no reason to be nasty about it.

"Yes, M/S was the original plan, but that was overtaken by J/S pre-pilot backstory that HS found "simmering" and the rest is history. ALP was signed to an eight season contract with a possible extention if he agreed. ALP and PM both have approached the showrunners in the past, so I'd say that these two actors do have influence and input for their character's storyline.

I think what's happened to Jack will be good for his character and yes under the circumstances I think it was fair. Hopefully he will sort out his issues through counselling.Personally I think Jack/ALP makes the show, that isn't to say that I don't admire/repsect the other characters and actors and yes I think a little more balance would be good with the storylines. As for J/S well...........the more the better for me, although I like the way it's starting out subtle. Hopefully we will get to see solid proof that they are a couple later on. I have to say though, for me, Jack rocks!!

CBS network approached ALP for the series, and ALP made his conditions known to the executives, and they accepted. There wouldn't be a show if it wasn't for ALP. The show was pitched to him because they network wanted him to be the lead actor on the series. Jack will continue being the boss and main character on the show. Your intelligence and intolerance for Jack and his issues will continue to be tried and tried because the storyline will continue to focus on his character because he's the showrunners "main suit."

I think Jack could care less as he now have the opportunity to be with Sam as he is no longer her supervisor.
