So, by you thinking that Jack is the father you are saying that Nick loves Phyllis. There is no way around that. There is no other way for this storyline to work. The only option is that Nick lied. Listen dum dum people often confuse lust with love, Nick was no exception, he didn't love her enough to be with her did he? until Sharon told him to stay away from her after the paternity was revealed. You keep dreaming if you think that the writers can't have Phyllis be the one to have changed the paternity of a child once again. It's always was about the baby in the beginning Nick wanted the baby born legitimate, you didn't hear him telling the judge because he was so in love with Phyllis, but it was about the baby and the Judge told them they should have thought about that before having an affair.
