I think we are witnessing the end of THE UNIT.I seriously hope this isnt the case....I love it all...I do think they need to do more on the missions/men, but I like all the characters. I like the women too. I like when they have "serious" issues, not the cheating or whatever, but to "stick by their man" show backbone about "being the HOMEFRONT".....I still can't decide if we can trust the chick about to marry into the Unit wives...

I've never liked the women of the Unit either. I watch this show to watch fit, athletic, intelligent men shoot things, ambush things, blow up things... I don't want to watch a soap opera. Kim is whiny and plain. Tiffy is just a slut. Who does Molly's hair? They're all annoying. And the colonel's wife? Don't get me started. I fast forward through the girl partsinshows I have to record, and I ignore them altogether when the women are more than just background noise. Whose idea was it anyway to involve them in an op? CBS keeps this up, they've lost me as a fan. And get rid of Red Hat.

I have watched the show since its inception, having read the book when it came out, and having contact with Mr. Eric Haney, as I am in the military.I believe that some of the women, or most of the them, are each portraying a stereotypical version of an military wife. This is not a bad thing, but all of them do not have issues. I think the show must do this for each of them, in order to have people have an interest in each of their lives. The only aspect that I can stand, and I believe many people share this, is that Kim Brown seems to still not get it at times. For a wife of someone in an elite force and knowing what he does, she is very dumb at times. Some episodes she comes off as a strong one, then others melts down (which I think is the way they play it). Although very annoying, I guess it shows vulnerability and how people can lose their cool, no matter what is at stake, which is a reflection of real life. I am a little tired of the cheating aspect in the military shows and this one, lets do more missions with the men, and how the women back home support them. My personal opinion: The wives/husbands that are home supporting their significant others in combat, deserve the medals, not me.

I'm a military girlfriend and while Ithink the women on TU have the drama in their lives like all women do .... I wish the show would portray them as stronger. I think I said in an earlier post thatin the first season they had j.o.b.s, now I don't know what they are doing, except maybe Tiffy -- because she's teaching.I work 50 hours a week and go to graduate school part time. All my man's friend's significant others have jobs. In fact, I don't know anyone that is a stay home significant other. While I'm sure there are people out there that still do that ... I don't know how they could afford it.(base housing or not!) All our significant others are deployed (well, mine just came back), but we need to hold it together here and take care of business while they are gone. I wish I had time to hang out at the pool .... I drive by it everyday. It's pretty to look at, but that's about all Ido, is look at it because I have too many other things to do that are far more important. Remember that episode in the first season where the guy died and the fiancee got kicked off base? Yeah, someday that could be me, except we don't have kids and don't live on base housing. But if something crazy happened to Kev, the military would drop me like a hot potatoe and not even give a #!@# ... they barely care that I exist they way it is. (Unless I'm trying to renew my base parking sticker ... then of course, they love every minute of my $.)

Nah. I LOVE Kim Brown. A woman who can think on her feet, is not afraid to speak up and is a good wife. We need all the wives. Each one serves a purpose and they add character and warmth to the show.

Interesting thread. I am an Air Force Officer and more importantly to the conversation...an ex-wife to a special operator (14 yrs). So Isay with experience, the show is art imitating life! Most of the wives I know that are"strong, independent, and grounded" get divorced. The men in these careers tend to be more like the Macs, unable to express their emotions, dealing with personal issues...and they go for these Tiffy type women. Honestly Ithink the producers hit the nail on the head with these characters.

I THink something BIGis up with the women, This sunday night's show preview makes me thinkthis. If the woman go, then maybe the show wil be about the men only and NOT personal issues anymore. **** hen BETTYBLUEis going to get married, or is he???That has to get ironed out as well.
