Mark Harmon is the soul of NCIS, without him there is no show. this is the #1 show on TV and he is the reason.

I don't think this post is actually about NCIS at all. But I do agree that if MH left there would be no show.

I love NCIS just because of Mark Harmon. No Mark Harmon = No NCIS and the show will be doomed. The one who has to leave is SB for everyone's sake.

I didn't want to start a new thread but Iam going to play devil's advocate here and if this has been addressed before Iapologize but here it goes: What if: All this stuff that we have seen, read, picked up on is in preparation for season 8 or beyond? What if Mark has his mind already set on leaving after season 8? If what we do may force him to continue on the show when he has his plans already set in motion(the traveling, the moving etc) won't he be a bit resentful to be forced into playing the character for longer? As a fanIwouldn't want to have that responsibility of perhaps making an actor be forced into something he no longer wanted to do.

Taking into account MT's age and reputation I'm prettysure he'd have no problems in saying something along the lines of 'thank you for your support but I wish to move on now'. I also suspect that a properly organized Gibbs withdrawl would have less negative impact than a perceived forced one. I'm not saying that I think the show could thrive without Gibbs, just that I thinkit would stand a better chance if the actor's withdrawl was voluntary and properly handled.

I have been a fan of MH for a very very long time it is the reason i started watching the show. Now if MH wants to leave the show Im not sure if I would continue to watch , I would wait and see how the following eps. would go . I hope we dont have to find out. It would be a sad day indeed!

Agree! I think that MH and MW, PP, Dm are the ones that carry the show. I like SM, & DB too. I don't care for CdP as much mainly because I don't like her character.
