Work Attire?

In tonight's rerun episode, Stella goes to a "house of ill repute" to accuse the owner of being involved in a murder, and Stella is showing more cleavage than the women working there! I guess there's no "dress code" for CSIs in New York, eh? Just an observation...

CSInd CSi Ny are selling sex not crime shows. The fact that they only take cases where beautiful people get killed is the one major fact why these shows are poorly written and worse, completely unreliable when it comes to actual crime scene investigating. Stella playing softballw as hard enough. But the CSI franchise has created a monster with so much lack of believebility, so much BS, it would be destructive to add realism.

CSI Miami is all fluff, I guess that's why it doesn't bother me as much as when CSI NY started doing the same thing. The person who bothered me the most on CSI Miami was the old m.e. Alex, she was dressed like a prostitue half the time!Sorry, back to CSI NY, I'm getting tired of Stella dressing the way she does and is anyone else getting annoyed with how in almost every episode, there is SOMEONE who has to tell Stella that she's beautiful?!! Come on! The young tattoo artist last week said something like "wow, you're smart as well as hot", how many 25 year olds do you know that would talk that way to a cop questioning them about a murder?!?!? Whatever... it's just getting ridiculous. The original CSI is still the best although I'm going to miss Warrick.

Re:Work Attire?

Yes, I agree white to a crime scene...dumb move but in reality at a real crime scene you are pretty much covered so no chance to show off cool clothes or to sell the chicks with even a little bit of T&A, it is television after all and they are trying to sell to men ages 14 to 28. There is some reality in the science of course, everthing else in these shows is actually second to MOST of the science. It must be me because even when the original CSI started and I heard Jerry Bruckheimer was behind it I knew it at times would be loud, popcorn with car chases, violance and at least one chick in her underware that's just....TV.As far as the kid talking to a cop that way, have you actually seen the kids today, as far as cops go they have no respect and yes I know several tattoo artists who would tell a woman they found pretty that they were cop or not.Remember, in television, movies and books certain things sell, the louder the better, blow something up, and have hot looking chicks in their underware in at least one scene otherwise show cleavage otherwise your just watching an educational film. I do have to say I've actually never really been disappointd in anything Jerry Bruckheimer has put out so....he inspires me to keep pushing my writing, take chances and tell stories that make people think......I mean just about everything Bruckheimer's company puts out is golden.

Of all the great things the cast does and makes believable, can't believe that in the real world, even New York, women investigators would dress as do the women on CSI. It brings down the authenticity in my view. Otherwise, CSI NY and CSI Las Vegas are my very favorite shows. I don't get cable but watch the reruns on a snowy screen. Don't care for some CSI Miami players. Not real.

Re:Work Attire?

As far as the clothes I don't think Stella's work attire is too bad. Its the heels that kill me in this show, to try to make us believe that Stella is going to chase down suspects across New York City roof tops is really an insult to the people who watch. I quit watching CSI:Miami because of the way they try to make us swallow that women with show up in white and high heels to a crime scene. And the acting was so bad it was embarrassing. The only thing about the acting in CSI:NY that I can't stand is when that use too many puns in the episode. The episode with Cris Angel, every other line was a pun and it took away from a good story line. They need to can the puns.

If they CSIs on NY dressed the way they're required when investiagating a crime scene, nobody would watch the show. In real life you can't wander around a crime scene in high heels, hair flowing freely and so on. Real CSIs are covered from head to toe and all you can see is there eyeballs sticking out from the suits they have to wear. This is TV and sex does indeed sell on TV and if they wanna stray from how they actually dress, I'm not gonna complain. I don't want to watch an hour of the entire team where all I can see are their eyes.

Love this hsow and everything but when it comes to the outfit attire, WOW!!! Stella always has excellent clothes on and a fashion sense but it is always low cut and showing cleveage all the time. I mean, compared to Lindsey in the show, she always has comfortable, yet work attire but she always look nice and sexy. Stella always looks like she is ready to get some, i dont know any other way to say it. i mean love this show and all the actors, but i mean it be honest i sometimes dont take her serious when she wears low cut tops. it always seems that the outfits she has can always cause i problem with her work i mean everytime she bends down to get a sample she shirt to be pulled down even more, i speak from personal experience. Also, she could wear those outfits on a first date. do to the low cuts and everything. i just hope that in the future they will make sure that the audience should be staring more at her face not her attire.

My husband and I have had this debate numerous times. There is no way that what they wear would be tolared. It's not very professional. My husband has noticed to that stella's neckline has gotten lower through the season's. In my career development class we were told that you shouldn't have a low necklline when dressing for an interview but they did say that you should wear a buisness type suite. The first thing they see is what you are wearing and they will judge you on how you are dressed. Many employers will make their descion right then even before the interviews.

My question is who really cares? Does anyone really watch TV shows for their believability? If you are honestly so disappointed because real detectives don’t walk around solving cases in sexy outfits, then go watch freaking Cops. TV shows are for entertainment, and the hoi polloi aren’t entertained by the everyday crime fighter solving the everyday crime. We want sexy people in sexy outfits solving sexy crimes. Who in their right mind would want to watch CSI: Omaha Nebraska… no one. So if Calleigh wants to wear hot white pants and heals or Stella wants to wear a low cut shirt, then more power to them. I wouldn’t even mind it if a couple of the crimes were solved in bikinis. It’s TV, not reality.

I never cared for the way she dressed, its just ridiculous and laughable to me. I think my issue is that clearly that is how wardrobe or the writers or the producer or whoever wants her to look, and the fact that they feel the need to constantly put her in that same revealing attire over and over again, its annoying. Its hard to take her character seriously when she is chasing after someone in six inch stilettos and a shirt so tight that the threads are practically bursting at the seam, with two to three buttons missing. Why do they feel the need to show a woman who is supposed to be professional that way? If thats the case then Danny should where a tanktop all of the time. Flack should wear tighter suits. Sheldon and Mac should show a little more skin.

I love heels. If they fit right and feel good on your feet. You have to be a real shopper for that to happen. You have to take your husband with you because he has to tell you how the back of your leg looks like in the perfect heel.I have yet to see a perfect heel but when all you have seen in the last three years in the suds and sinks in the home depot and the bad tragic clearance isle in the mid term munchin wal mart. Yucks. No heels there...Ahhh...Sexy classic looks are good and I will be on that man hunt as soon as the others can cathyc up.

I think the point of all is that it IS a TV show and not reality. Thats like when people complain about how they resolve ALL their cases isn't realistic. I think any show like this is like someone telling you the exciting stories of their lives. No one would want to hear or watch the ones where weeks go by with no resolution to cases. The viewers are supposed to think of the episodes like "Oh, we get to hear the one about when ...., or remember that time when..."

memories are only works that leave a stamp on the day that we had. Memories are a way of retracing our steps so that we know what page we were on. Like a book mark to mark the pages of what pages we were reading. the prob;lem is that some pages were never worth reading after all is said and done. At the end of your day and you can say okay. I am here and this is hwere I was the progress of your brain can release memory back into your heart and let the jistakes or the qualms or the rushes of pain and resentment can linger so little now. that you dont know the happy memory from the bad one. You enbtertwine those little things and let life hang in the balnce of what it coiuld have been or might have been wasted moment son words that make no difference in goodness and little tiny pieces of your heart. Thinking. I thought. That love might have been different from this one thing. Not just a surcomvent for your name calling frustrations. I dont regret having met a stranger if you can finally know that your friends were never friends at all. they were only getting to your good strength by usuing them against you.

I can't say as I find Stella's outfits particularly dodgy anyway guys. She's a beautiful woman, why hide it? It's not like shes turning up for work in a black rubber catwoman outfit... Although now that I think about it... LOL

Although she is a beautiful actress, we have to ask....what would a real detective wear to work? To keep the show realistic, the producers need Stella to dress the way she shoud, not just the way she can.

Re:Work Attire?

I love Stella's outfits. They're cute. Like if I could, I'd wear them. When it comes to actually "investigating a crime scence" she wears that blue suit, not her regular clothes. But when she's just like in the lab, or her office, or even out in the field she wears her normal clothes because there's nothing wrong with them. All detectives dress in like suits, or dress pants & basic tops. They aren't actual cops, therefore, they don't wear police uniforms. When you're a woman, & you have a job- heels & casual clothing is what you wear. My dads friends wife was a detective until 2 years ago & she wore heels, basic black pants & just a basic T-shirt to workevery day. Sure there's a dress code. But none of Stellas outfits are against it.

Really this is so wrong. Number one I remeber episodes with alot of people that didnt look that hot in it that got killed so how can you say only the beautiful ones do. And number two what is wrong with the way they dress so what. Tell you what. i have worked in public office buildings and yes we dressed like that. Number three I work around blood, dirt and grease all day and on some of them wear white pants. This is a show for our amusment poeple I think stella is very pretty and dont see anything wrong with what they wear. Plain and simply if you dont like it then dont watch it.

Iagree! Iwas a little upset when Isaw this thread. My first inclination was to say something that would have been mean. And since Iam a huge fan of the show and stella (sooooooooooo beautiful) Iscanned through seasons 3-5. In almost all of them she is either wearing a lab coat, CSIwindbreaker, or a black suit the vast majority of time.

Melina can be covered from head to toe or not and still she would be ABSOLUTELYBEAUTIFUL. Imean really, she is wearing alot of dark colored suits with bright color v-necks. What is wrong with that?

Actually, almost all technology they use on the show is real, or based off real, or newly developed technology. It is not acurate on timing, but as for what the machines do, they are close to being on target.

Love CSI NY the best, but have to agree, Stella's cloths are somewhat inappropriate. The shoes as someone else mentioned are impractical for the job. The puns that someone mentioned are in fact pretty much what does happen in real life. Don't forget these guys are dealing with death and destruction day in day out, the puns are a way of relieving the tension. I know plenty of cops here in OZ and yes the punning is real, it keeps them sane.

Re:Work Attire?

In twenty years Ican only recall one female who wore heels the the way the women on all Miami and NY do (Las Vegas it seems wear the more comfortable shoes cept for the ME's. But real life high heel wearer Iknew kind of dressed that way cause well Iguess she was "looking" . Most women won't wear 6 inch stilletto heels while investigating a homicide. Or anything else for that matter. Maybe if they were testifying in court. But hey, this is TVand most of the male actors are probably around 6 feet tall or more and Iguess for production purposes they have to have the actress' somewhat at eye level or the shot is going to be all cockeyed.
