In generaly,to deny a relationship because of the age is unfair-if there is a chemistry,the age is out of the question.Slaveathome and Nikkiroxon,since you talk about a lack of sexual tension between them, interesting thing for me is that IF there is not a chemistry, HOW Ziva knows Gibbs' six-pack is better than Tony's?! Kate is the right example. Gibbs was willing to renew the relationship at the beginning of S3, but Jen shot him down.Jen said in 'Jeopardy' that Gibbs sees her like a wife-an she meant it not in the pleasant way.In 'Lost and Found' their conversation at her home is very telling. If Gibbs had someone I think he would lose his Gibbs attitude and a softer Gibbs would not be a better Gibbs.

Gibbs and Ziva do have some things in common like that they both lost loved ones, they both are almost cut from the same cloth. They would make a very interesting couple. And it would be a very interesting turn of events, not only for the TV show but for the fans of NCIS.

Hi ditte3 Welcome to the forum and to the thread! I'm always happy when I see other people notice how much Ziva and Gibbs care for each other. I loved Murder 2.0 also for the scenes between Ziva and Gibbs. It's been nice to see Ziva in protective mode, don't you think? Of course he will not react to Ziva like he react to Jen-this is different relationship-they are good friends,on the age to be something more.Conversations about sex and the teasing between Tony and Ziva are not the only valid example for a relationship .

The general assumption seems to be that the redhead is just a friend. Gibbs flirts a lot for a man who has a girlfriend, if that is what the redhead is, but he does not seem the type to cheat or be a player.We saw the readhead for the last time at the beginning of S3-Gibbs kissed the blondy in S2-"Doppelgänger"-if the readhead was a girfriend ,that will make Gibbs a cheater,which I think is totally out of the character for hm.

To me Ziva and Tony make no sense at all . This is not the place, though, to discuss why, since it's not a thread about them What Gibbs and Ziva have is IMHO something that runs deeper that a trust relationship...I like the fact that her trust in Gibbs is solid, unshakable ...but there is a connection, a bond that goes way beyond trust between coworkers. They understand each other better than anybody else. You talk about chemistry for romance ...the problem is, I think, that we are blessed with a group of actors who have amazing chemistry with each other, because I do see chemistry for romance between Ziva and Gibbs

I miss Jeanne too She had a good influence on Tony, he was a better person when he was with her, and he clearly was very much in love with her...I still hope that she will return one day. As for Jenny...as much as I miss her character (although Leon is starting to grow on me), I think she is really dead. And besides she was already dying with some disease....

I agree with you-partly.See for me the memory of Kate Todd is particularly powerful when it comes to Jethro Gibbs. His memory revolved around two points: the death of his beloved wife and his adored daughter and the death of this one particular agent.BUT exactly Ziva David, who's been in NCIS less than a year,and is the newer member of the team,/which means she doesn't have that strong connection with Gibbs like the others(keep in mind that no one knew about the fact she killed Ari)/ is the person ,who helped him.The memory of Kate returned Gibbs memorry,but Ziva was the person,who made that possible.

I agree with you-partly.See for me the memory of Kate Todd is particularly powerful when it comes to Jethro Gibbs. I think the attraction is there but they don't know it and don't want to explore it because of their past of losing people. However, Ziva/Tony as well as McGee/Abby click but not as well as Ziva/Gibbs. I have watched clips of them in different episodes that just makes your heart flutter but I don't get that when she is with Tony. They are more like brother and sister and very amusing to watch. They are attracted to each other and both are aware, but Gibbs rule of don't get involved with a co-worker. even if the elevator scene in Silver War is even better IMHO. Their whole dialoge is so amazing! How they smile and joke around and then get all serious again before walking out.

Oh, yes...I loved how right from the start they "got" each other...they've always been on the same page, even then!

As you have proably guessed by now I really think Ziva and Gibbs would be a great match! And as someone stated not only because of the ship potential but also because it would make a really intresting storyline. Just imagine the havok the secret about Ari potentially could make. Let's hope the writers eventually dare to walk down that route! How'b the last longer story arc So everyone can have fun scribbling their fanfics in the meantime!

I think the secret about Ari would make a terrific storyline for Ziva and Gibbs...but there are things about this season that have lot of potential too...just think about how many times now Ziva has said that as a soldiers she has to follow orders even if she doesn't like them, even if she doesn't agree with them. The more I watch the latest episode, the more I think that either Ziva figured out Gibbs plan way before the others or she's part of it (as one of the good guys, of course ) Glad to have you here

When did he treat her like a daughter? Showing concern, being protective, doesn't mean being a father figure. It means caring for a person...who happens to be younger than him I think Gibbs doesn't see the women working with him as surrogate daughters...because it'd be too painful for him. He had a daughter and her tragic, premature, unfair death was too painful...so much that he seldom says his daughter's name. You can replace a wife...but you cannot replace a daughter. Gibbs married other women, he had other relationships...but he didn't have other kids. I find this aspect of his background very telling. Besides, a father doesn't look at her daughter's bottom ...and it didn't happen just in Stakeout, but also in other episodes of the previous seasons (yes, I paid attention )

You're right, Abby is very protective of Gibbs...I think she just wants him to be happy...and if he could be happy with Ziva, I'm sure she'd be the first one to give her blessing to him but that's just MHO As for Ziva worrying about Tony...well, she's a soldier, she cares about him, but she's very protective of McGee, Abby and Mr. Palmer too...it's part of what makes her such a wonderful character on the show

I agree with her-they don't have a romantic feelings/yet /,but there is a strong connection between them-that is what makes us curious,beause such a strong connection can develop in many directions.

I'm always open to all possibilities with the NCIS show. I do agree that he cares about her and maybe as a friend as much as he is friendly with the other members of the team (I'm having trouble with the word friend in a boss / employee relationship). I think the writers have decades of exploration they could do. As a couple, the writers would have to overcome some of the past preferences of Gibbs character. But anything is a possibility

My concern about Ziva is because of things she's been saying ever since she came back, about following orders ...about being a soldier Agent Lee said that she didn't have to explain things to Ziva because she understood...The end scene (beautifully played by all the actors, btw), made me think a lot....about what might going on...And for once, shipper thoughts are far away from my mind I still don't make much sense, do I? I may have misunderstood the scene with Agent Lee and Ziva. I took it to be a ( both) stranger in a foreign land thing. (Going to have to re-watch the episode again).I was a little disappointed in the last show, when Agent Lee was killed. I have the impression that they were rushed to get it finished. Seemed strange to me that everyone wasn't wearing vests, seemed strange to me that they would risk the lives of all the other people at the restaurant. The whole episode just seemed a little off. I'm hoping that they have much more in store for Ziva, the character is great and the actress is great (except when she swallows a pill, that looked so phony).You get your point across and that's all that really matters. Tell me about your theory ? I'm intrigued !!

However, between the wild gunplay and Gibbs' dizziness, he did the best he could to end it. While I liked Lisa Laperia I am glad they did not try to do something lame like make it all alright legally since she helped them out, and suddenly she's back in the legal department. Maxx613, I agree with what you said about the episode...I was a little disappointed too when agent Lee was killed. I got the same impression you did, that the last part was a bit rushed. Maybe they weren't wearing vests because they were "undercover"? It was strange that there wasn't any sniper on the roof or that not one of the other agents had the time to go outside the pub and shoot at the guy in the back of the head I too hope they have more in store for Ziva, I just fear of what it might be...Since she came back...there have been hints about her receiving orders that she doesn't like...now, I may be paranoid but IMHO...there's something she's hiding from the team...I don't know, maybe a mission for Mossad...or maybe an order given by her father she will have to follow toward the end of the season. About the last scene...to me she looked like she was heartbroken over something....it was a very intense scene, one of the best the actors have had...so much went on without lines...it was really brilliant!

Me too...and I hated every single second of it I agree with your interpretation of the scenes...I was never a big fan of Agent Lee, but Liza Lapira was very good in the last few episodes

Ziva really makes me curious.For a woman,who don't pay attention to Gibbs,she notice some very intimate pieces of detail about him.Not to mention she is always somehow on his face,always argue with him....that makes me wonder how she sees him.Gibbs on the other hand,don't show his emotions,and somehow is not interested in her,but his heart speed up,when she was injured in "Recoil"-I know he acts that way to everybody,but the look he gave her,when he said"You OK?",and "I don't want to see you tonight",not to mantion the funny looks he gave her everytime she said"I'm fine"...The all thing is very interesting! As for paternal feeling,Gibbs react that way to all of his team,it's a Marine-and a Boss- thing-he have to be sure all of them are safe and unharmed-that doesn't mean he doesn't have feelings to them.I liked the tension between him and Kate-they probably never would hook up on the show,but their relationship born the best fanfiction writters -the fictions about Gibbs and Ziva are one of the best too.

However, once you get past thirty a few years difference doesn't mean as much. I'm not saying that what they did was the same. I am in no way saying that ziva is a traitor or that what she did is anything close to what Lee did. I'm sorry if I gave you the impression I thought you were saying that Ziva is a traitor in no way I meant that! . First and foremost as for Shannon...we have to remember that the Gibbs we see in flashbacks, is not the same man that we see in the present. That Gibbs lost his wife, his daughter and became a spy ...it can't be compared to a marine who had a perfect life...who had lost that desire for revenge that his father talks about in Heartland. Plus, he's been trying to recreate what we had with a partner with "more give", as you put it, for years...and he didn't succeed. Maybe he'd need someone who understand that kind of darkness and who can pull him back, like Ziva is able to do...and like he can do with her. No one said that you had to keep your mouth shut, far from it it's just that we see things differently. Incest is a very strong word that I do not think it applies to Gibbs and his relationship with Abby and Ziva. I agree-they don't have that much scenes,where we can see the tension.But they have most of that,what makes one relationship successfull-they have simmilar POV on life,they trust eachother and they respect eachother.The sexual tension is the only thing,which we don't see on the screen,and I think it's mostly because they are very good with hiding their feelings.For me Gibbs looks at Ziva with a mix of friendship and curiousity-but he defenitely doesn't see her like his daughter-for me he acts to Abby a lot more like a father,than to Ziva.He knows Ziva can handle herself,and he is always there,where she is broken-remember "Recoil" and "Kill Ari II".Ziva is the one,who sometimes is a little ...harsh with Gibbs-no one of the team dare to make Gibbs uneasy.And she is the one,who makes interesting remarks about Gibbs-like about his sixpack. Ziva is more mature than Tony and McGee,and she have the same....bitter...life,like Gibbs-they both lost a lot in this life,and that draw people closer.Yes,this relationship may not turn into something more than a friendship-but I see in life that people,who have different personalities like Tony and Ziva, don't last long-in defence of Tony/Ziva pairing,i'll say that Tony grew up a lot since he met Ziva-that give me hope if they hook together,their relationship will last longer than I expected/and exactly that I like about that pairing-it was nice to see a grown up Tony,who fast overtake Ziva's life experiance/,but for now,Gibbs is the one,who is Ziva's equal on maturity. PS: About Gibbs and Jen,I'm sure Gibbs will not be fond of the idea to take Jen back in his life.

Well,i don't see that show to become close to the danger of bringing 2 of the main characters together-they flirt,but that's not hooking up...yet. From my POV,if we think logically,in S1 first ep.-YW - DPB add the reaheaded woman to prevent the tension between Gibbs and Kate.Gibbs and Jen had history,but they didn't get closer to the new relationship.Hollis and Jeanne had better chance to be in the relationship with the characters,because we didn't see them regulary and the chance for them to annoy us is little-but they are out of the show too.I don't think the main couple- Ziva and Tony - will hook up anytime soon,althought everything is possible.About the relationships in general-Tony's relationship with Jeanne made him grow upJethro relationship with Hollis made him think that it's time to leave Shanon and Kelly behind and to move on.I enjoy the cases they solved,but I don't watch the show only fo them anymore-for me the most inrigue part is the characters and their development-that is now,what makes me watch.I see 2 man-Tony and Jethro-both wonderful and funny,and sexy/McGee is cutie and easy can find a woman ,who willingly will share her life with him /-but they don't have someone to share the love they have in them.They can give so much-but they are single.I don't want that to continue-I want they to be happy,because I care for them.We will see more of the person and less of the agent,when the main characters are in a relationship.A little romantic,which will not take too much screen time,will be good for the show.We will how the character develope,instead of only "we solved the case-end of the ep."

I'm starting to think that chemestry is the only thing,which is requirement for a relationship. I agree about Kate-but there's no way I could enjoy this 'ship as much as I do if Kate wasn't a strong female lead.Ziva is a strong female lead-I think that's obvious on the show. I also think that Gibbs after three divorces would know when to compromise and his personality is more similar to Ziva's than Tony's is and Gibbs and Ziva are more serious although they both have a softer side. It's not so much the words, it's the looks, and the expressions, and the hands. Things that are not obvious. Sometimes I was totally sure about the meaning of a look and in the second viewing, it doesn't mean the same thing. Plus there are things that are implied. (I love those). It was implied that something is going on between Ziva and Tony because Ziva's dad discovered that he visited her once a week. But, nothing in their demeanor showed that anything other than friendship was going on, even when no one was around. Not so with Ziva and Gibbs.

For a family members they have a really a lot conversations about sex,and they flirt a lot with eacother.About Jen-I think you forget she was the person who left him a "Dear John" letter,always interfere with his case and flirted with him ,althought,like she said, there will not be"off the job",and didn't tell Gibbs or anybody else that his life was in danger because she didn't do her job in Paris.Gibbs didn't trust her,and the trust is a key for Gibbs in one relationship-I don't think he will be fond of the idea of him and Jen together.

They are very interesting family-they ask eachother about their underwear and what turn them on-like Abby,always are curious about their boss personal life and are not afraid to ask and mock him about his marriages-like Kate,and they sometimes mock their boss about his good shape and his age -like Ziva.At last I don't act that way to my family members. About Jen-I agree with dani-Gibbs don't trust her-especially in the light of the facts she reject him twice.I don't think he forgive easily-especially in the light of the fact how she treated his team.

Just saying about whatever we see. We can always make distinctions between what we see (which is different from person) and to what they mean. I am not denying that they meant to have Kate and Gibbs tension, I just didn't see it myself back when I watched those seasons. That the current tension now is between tony and Ziva should be pretty clear.Switch, that was a long time ago, in fact the third episode with Ziva in it. Three years ago. The innuendo between most characters have changed quite a bit since then. Just like any tension between Ziva and tony doesn't feel to be sexual anymore. More emotional. While I love this Tiva thing, I feel they neglected the others relations a bit. But all that may be just forthcoming. This is the good thing when there isn't as much a main cast as in other shows, they can just switch (pun!) attention and make it about Abby/Gibbs/Ducky/McGee/Other. Something like the "Jeanne" occuring character for someone.

That in essence are what Ziva and Gibbs stand for. In the end, they belong together. Whatever happens til then are good storylines, tensions (sexual or not) with one or the other, or who ever is slated to appear, special appearances, and a whole lot of patriotism. I believe that is the point this series is making, so I, for one, will enjoy each and every episode cause they reflect what my country is going thru now, seen through the eyes of the creators, writers, producers, cast, and crew. But when the time comes to give it a rest, I know Ziva and Gibbs will be together.
