oh no, this totally stinks, seriously, all the teams I like keep getting eliminated. I was so disappointed again. Now it is full on rooting for Toni and Dallas. I have nothing against ken and Tina or Nick and Starr, but the divorcees don't see to nice and could terry bring sarah down any further. I am totally shocked that strong willed woman from new york, a often ruthless town, allows her partner to get upset about going fast them him. I say if you don't like it, Terence pick up your pace!

Re:Official Thread: Episode Five

Ty & Aja eliminated unfairly. Terrance & Sarah should have been eliminated in episode 5 because they got the ticket in New Zealand. A 30 minute penalty should have been applied at the end of the race in Cambodia not at the beginning of the next episode? Writers are making up the rules as they go along! If the ticket was in Cambodia then the 30 minute penalty should apply to the next race, that is how it was done in the past. I guess the rules change after every episode!

Aja and TY UNFAIRLY ELIMINATED

I've been a fan of Amazing Race from the first episode and I am completed dumbfounded as to why the rules are suddenly different for Aja and Ty. It was very clear that the should not have been eliminated. To allow the other couple to carryover a penalty of 30 minutes is a blatant in your face case of UNFAIRNESS. Amazing Race owes its viewers an explaination.

Teams never get "credit" for a vehicle mishap. Cars break down all the time in this show, all the rules state, and it is so funny as an avid fan to listen to Phil repeat the rule every time, is that a new car will be provided but no time will be given. I ranted about karma earlier and the boat is an example. terence asks sarah to slow down becuase "she is always running ahead of him" and their boat springs a leak. not a shock to me, i just can't wait until she finally stick up for herself!

Of course it is hard to tell just how far behind they were with the editing done.

Yeah, maybe when I grow up I will apply-if they're still doing it and don't run out of ideas-They should do "AMAZING RACE the family version" where families compete against other families-same idea as the AR. I wonder still how far they were behind Aja and Ty were. (remember that it looked as if the FRATS and Aja and Ty were close!) I too would like to see the unedited version. Tina was a riot, Kelly and Christy are kind of airheads, Frat boys are the next to go, and Terence woo hoo!!

Hi all...While I am no fan of Terrance and Sarah I would like to chime in on the whole speeding penalty issue. The precedent for this was set way back in season two, episode four. Two different teams,Chris&Alex(frat boys/winners) and Gary&Dave(nerds/bffs) were given penalties for speeding en route to the pit stop. There was no ticket involved as it was the African Bush(Namibia) but they were turned in by their respective cameramen. The penalty was 30 minutes for speeding and 12 minutes for time gained,Terrance and Sarah did not receive the second penalty for time gained as they sat at the side of the road, the penalty for speeding was the same 30 minutes. The point is that a penalty for speeding has always been AT THE START OF THE NEXT LEG,so the rules have not changed...Hope this helps.

I actually think it's unfair that Terrance and Sarah were penalized I didn't know there was a penalty for receiving a speeding ticket.Tae and Adja were far behind the other teams, but due to editing they looked closer than they really were, if you noticed it never showed the time their plane landed so it wouldn't have made a difference. But penalizing Terrance and Sarah at the mat at that moment or on the next leg would be the same difference.Tae and Adja wouldn't have caught up, editing just made them look like they were in contention. So it's really unfair to Terrance and Sarah to receive a penalty.

The 30 minute penalty wouldn't have changed the order of finish, given that, whether the penalty is given at the end of this leg or the beginning of the next makes no difference. They usually start 12 hours later right? Say they get to the mat at 7 pm and have to wait 30 minutes before check in til 730. the next day they start at 730 am. OR they get to the mat at 7 pm and check in, and the next day they start at 7 am but have to wait until 730 am to go. Its a wash

I think T & A were close, bc they were there with the Frat Boys fishing. The editing does take a lot of time away from what is really going on.I agree with everyone about Terence & Sarah. From the first episode he rubbed me wrong. I dont know verbatim, but he said something to the effect that, he was tired, and Sarah should have been attending to him rather than getting to know the other teams. Not to mention his attitude towards her, ugh, I want to slap him but really hard.I hope Dallas and Toni win or Nick and Starr, I have no other faves left. I had liked the nerdy guys. I was ticked that they didnt read the penalty correct.

Hopefully Terence, what a whiney b**ch. I've never been so annoyed at a couple, though it was a hilarious slip when he asked Sarah "Whose my girl?" and she said "you are!" Though I would like to add I was so upset with the crew on AR in India, I will lose all interest & respect if this show becomes "Fear Factor" with the dangerous tasks they have to perform. That festival, as Ive seen in person, is much kinder and fun. The dye is thrown up in the air mostly and somewhat at others, usually avoiding the face. So either they were told to throw the dye in the contests faces, or there was no control over the situation and I felt bad for the contestants. I didn't think that was fun to watch or interesting....just dangerous.

Re:Official Thread: Episode Five

I apologize for the late reply, but here it is! The Amazing Race 13 - Episode Five Commentary - 10.26.08 Hey, what do you know? An episode without Pit Stop conflict at the beginning! Anyway; the teams depart on the new leg, this time bound for Siem Reap, Cambodia. When Terence & Sarah were driving to the airport; they were pulled over by an officer and given a ticket for speeding. It's too bad that set them back, but later we would find out if this affects their race. With Ken & Tina and Terence & Sarah all ready on the flight, the other teams are just heading out. But it's here at the airport where my hatred for Kelly & Christy just grew much more, it's so annoying they think they're some kind of big shot and act so arrogant. I really hope they make some kind of crucial mistake and get eliminated as soon as possible. Later on; it looked like Andrew & Dan were going to hit another string of bad luck and not make the flight, but made it just in time. The frat boys just haven't had an easy time so far, have they? It's looking very grim for Aja & Ty to catch up in any way. After landing in Cambodia; the teams make their way to the gas pumping station to fill a truck's gas tank. Once again Andrew & Dan hit back luck not figuring out how to work the pump, it was almost sort of funny. Now the teams will ride the truck to Siem Reap Harbor and progress to the Kho Andeth restaurant. It's too bad Starr was getting paranoid and stopped to ask directions, because they were getting a pretty good lead on the other teams. Hopefully they won't make other mistakes like that, or just be paranoid. Heading out on the boats; Terence & Sarah's boat broke down setting them back a bit. That's a real buzz kill, especially when they were gaining a lead on everyone else. It literally was a boat race to get to the restaurant first, with Nick & Starr leading; to find another Detour waiting for them. This time; the choice is either Village Life or Village Work. I would of probably went with Village Work; because somewhat more physical tasks I can get done much quicker, plus the fact that Village Life it could of been hard to collect all of those items and hold onto them. Still maintaining their lead; Nick & Starr finish the Detour and head out to Angkor Wat for the next clue. Most of the teams were able to handle the Detour tasks well; except for Kelly & Christy who once again think too quickly and forget certain details. Aja & Ty meanwhile are still desperately trying to catch up. Now arriving at Angkor Wat; the next Roadblock awaits them where they must find the Chamber of Echoes to receive their clue. Most of the teams after a little searching were able to find it; but Tina had the most trouble. She even kept walking right through it! Man, I was ready to yell at the screen! Arriving at the Bayon Temple Pit Stop; Nick & Starr claim first place winning a trip to St. John. Little did we know this wouldn't be a fluke first place for them. Though when Terence & Sarah checked in; they received a thirty-minute penalty for their speeding ticket in New Zealand, but it didn't matter that much. After being on the bottom this entire leg; Aja & Ty arrive in last place, becoming the fifth team eliminated from the race. It's too bad they couldn't catch up, and here's hoping the best for them. Who will be eliminated next? We'll find out soon; see you next week, and Happy Halloween !
