Survivor needs changes.

I think they need to change the format to include waaaay more individual immunities. I'm sick of seeing a bunch of losers banding together to vote out the strong players - namely Marcus and now Charlie.Who would want to watch the superbowl if two teams with losing records were playing because they voted out the good teams that they viewed as a threat.Kenny and Chrystal aren't bad people but even as they lost challenge after challenge, they kept voting out the strong members of their tribe (like Ace). They're losers not only for losing but also for continuing to vote out the strong members of their own tribe which further perpetuated the losing. Then they teamed up with Susie, another total loser, to vote out Marcus, arguably the strongest player in the challenges. That totally ruined the show for me. It's like a bunch of 2-7 football teams voting out a 9-0 team. The tribe changing twist last week also ruined the show. Marcus had also done an excellent job of building alliances but then he got stuck with the losers. The game is supposed to be about skill, not luck when pulling numbers out of a bag. They totally negated Marcus' considerable skill and effectively eliminated him with the number he pulled out of the bag. I don't care to watch that. I want to see people win or lose based on their skill. They need to have individual immunities for at least half of the members of whichever tribe is going to council - 8 tribe members = 4 individual immunities. The immunity challenges should be a mixture of physical and mental competitions since different people possess different types of skills.I've been a Survivor fan since season 1 but I've quit watching in the middle of several seasons because of this same phenomenon and I'm through with this season as well. I also used to watch Big Brother but have quit watching in the middle of the past 2 seasons for the exact same reason.Let's see a show where the winners make it to the end and have a real showdown like the superbowl!

Michigan Wolverines would be the 2-7 and The OHIO STATE BUCKEYES would be the 9-0. I don't say this because i'm from Ohio, but i say this because Michigan can't beat Ohio State no matter what! Part of the game is winning no matter what. So you bring up one of my Fav shows, Big Bro. look at DAN, there is noooo way he should have won the game he was the only one left in his alliance and won the whole game. I know the games are toatally diff but the point still remains the same.

I can agree on some points about having losers in the finals. There have been seasons were people did nothing but coast to the end and that made me mad. However, I feel the "losers" are playing a great strategic game this season. Everyone deserves thier spots in the game right now. I love it when "strong" players get voted out. Makes for good tv. Could you imagine how borig the final tribal council would be if Charlie and Marcus DID make the final two?Marcus: I think you really deserve the money Charlie.Charlie: No Marcus. You are so wonderful, you deserve the money.YAWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!

The game is definitely not all about physical strength; rather, it mostly comes down to the social and mental aspect of the game. The 'strong' players are being voted out solely based on what they have done wrong, and Ace and Marcus are perfect examples of this. The producers of Survivor have little to do with this. The multiple switch-ups were not rigged in the fact that it was up to fate or choice. Kenny and Crystal are well more deserving of winning than Marcus and Charlie based on their raw ability to manipulate, socialize, and persuade. For the past couple of episodes, they have been able to do this--thus, why they are more deserving. This week, both the "winners" and "losers" had a shot at persuading Sugar to vote on their behalf, but based on the fact that Kenny, your so called 'loser' is better at the social aspect, they came out as the "winners".The physical games are there to keep one or a group in the game.. and that only. It does NOT define the whole game or whom is more deserving as Kenny well conveyed in today's episode. How are the Kota II "winners"? They had more physical players.. and that is all. The social aspect of the game is there to eliminate one of the players.. and that is it.Thus, your argument is flawed. Kenny and Crystal are the better players in this game based on the fundamental fact that they have been the major contributors to voting out... Okay, so, if the underdogs band together and vote off pompous douchebags, like MarCUNT, then they're losers...? Okay there, kiddo. Marcus was lucky because Charlie had a crush on him, and that Corrine and Jacquie probably thought he was hot or something. His ass was grass. You'll live. This game is about luck and skill. Why are you constantly brining up the superbowl. Worst.analogy.ever. Marcus overstayed his time on Survivor. As well as Charlie. The end.Survivor doesn't need changes my friend. You do. I think she had enough brains to realize that her best shot at winning this whole game was to go with Kenny's team, because they are a weaker team. She knows she has a better shot of getting herself to the top 3, at least, by (1st) killing off Charlie's team, (2nd) winning an individual immunity (because Kenny's team is mentally, socially, & physically weaker than Charlie's team, she would have a better chance at this) & (3rd) eventually using the idol she already has. However, if she she went with Charlie's team then she would be at the bottom, because I am sure she didn't forget how tight, smart, & physically strong his team was, & she would have a less likely chance at winning individual immunity after Kenny's team was voted off, if she went that way. Also, because Bob went to Exile, she may be worried that he would have realized that she had the idol, and she would have a whole knew target on her back if she went with Charlie's team, but Kenny's team already knows about it, and therefore she doesn't have to hide it from them and worry as much at the moment about them trying to "flush" it out, like Charlie's team did with Dan (who they thought may have the idol, although they voted for him for other reasons as well).Sugar's reason's for going with Kenny's team were probably similar to Suzie's reason's for switching sides and voting out Marcus. In the end they are taking out the stronger players in the game to benefit no one but themselves. And I don't like it. Although everyone has a shot at winning & a chance to do what they can to win, as a viewer I would rather see someone with good social, physical, & intellectual skills, and with a strong tight alliance from the beginning, win this game than the people who get a free ride on the coat-tails of those power players. Those free-loaders get carried so far in this game by the power players only to stab them in the back when it suits them best, all because the game had a stupid twist that allowed them to be cut-throat, mainly because of an off-set in numbers. I knew when Sugar started getting all emotional and teary-eyed when they were voting at tribal council that she had voted Charlie, because I think she actually liked Charlie's team better than Kenny's, but knew she didn't have a good chance at winning the game, if she had stayed with Charlie's team, which is too bad, but is understandable.

because I think she actually liked Charlie's team better than Kenny's

Actually it was because she hated Charlie's team more than Kenny's :p I just saw the tribal council video and her reason was that Charlie allied himself with 2 very unlikable people (Randy and Corinne) and thus she had no choice and he had to go. She really liked Charlie though.

It needs to keep changing to entertain its viewers (us). It needs to keep changing the game so that the players are not able to predict the game all the time, and will NOT be able to outsmart the game. It's like a bunch of 2-7 football teams voting out a 9-0 team.It would've been stupid, not to get rid of Marcus the first chance possible, he had to go.The tribe changing twist last week also ruined the show.

Its outwit, outlast and outplay your opponent. If it was the way some on here would like it to be, from day one, as soon as the first alliance is created, we would be able to predict the winner each week, and figure out who would be going home, provided that all the challenges are physical. To me that would be boring, this isn't a completely physical game, there is a lot of strength required, but there is also a great deal of thought and strategy that needs to go into it. It sounds like some would like this to be just a physical game where the strongest team just bowls over every one else (ie - the football analogy). They have been changing up the game, with the changing of the tribes, and that hurts all of those alliances that are made on day one!! I've always hated that part of the game because it allows those strong players to align themselves with other strong players, and run roughshod over the competition. They already have reality shows for people like that, American Gladiator. I think the first one or two seasons the alliance didn't come into play near as much as it does now. As soon as a group hits the beach they are trying to figure out who they should align with and start to set up these elaborate plans of how to get rid of people.

i agree with you, they really need to change. if they can changed to a group of people againest with another group and they dont have to vote thier mates out just group vs group and they can just share the reward, i believe then the show will be more interesting. it can be a show that shows how the important of a group work. of course, now the show does have this group work thing in it but hey they dont really act like a group becasue they put most of the time on voting their teammate out insteal of how to make the group win

browniemr17 wrote: I don't believe that Sugar voted w/ Kenny's team because of Kenny's "good" social game.

YES, now is the time to start getting rid of the stronger players or those that you can not win against with the jury vote! *BAND*

No food unless you catch it or pick it, all the way to 3. That would really be a outwit - OUTLAST - outplay. Challenges could reward with comfort items (blanket / pillow) but no more feeding the players. Then, the weak players would actually have to use MORE strategy before simply voting off the guy that reminds them of the dude they hated in high school...'so, For those who think that a show that rewards people for acting in a way that, in the real world is the worst of what we can be is pretty cool ... I hope that one of the previous winners you were cheering for comes home with your kid after they have blown through all their winnings, and declares everlasting love for your daughter or son. Then, you could spend the rest of you days providing for the loser that sits around figuring out how to get more out of you, and less out of themselves. - Their motto - "YOU row / I'll ride"....

As it is now the fysical strong players don't stand a change not only do the weak band against the strong but the strong band against the strong aswel witch is silly because its clear that challenges do NOTHING to improve your game, i mean why have challenges at al if production is going to set it equal again givving the weak more changes of voting of the strong.I think if you are in a tribe and you CHOOSE to kick out the strong players then you better be prepaired to lose a member week after week. Also if the producers are serious about making the game less predictable then they need to have a plan worked out from the start that is different from previous seasons so that players do not know what is going onbut that last"twist" was a panic reaction to try to make the game less predictable, the result hase been dreadfuland just as predictable only now the loser tribe has the upper hand.My suggestion:no more tribe A and B one gaint tribe from the start and individual immunity from the start but the person who wins immunity can protect 6 members(at the beginning of the season and becomming less and less as the season gets further,so 6 the first two TC 5 the next two and so on) of the tribe with extended immunity. That way the weak players actually need at least one fysical strong player

That's like saying Texas Tech should forfit their win against TExas because they weren't supposed to win. Suzie amazed me in that immunity challange. Ken's amazing me that he's making as many big moves as he is. Marcus, Charlie, Corrine and Bob are amazing me with their shear stupidity, thinking that they have all the power when they have none.Second, by including more individual challanges, it would actually allow for stronger people to be voted off sooner. Could you imagine a Surivior where JAmes was axed in the first nine days because the tribe was fearing a merge on day 12 or 15? No, and if you can then you'd be a terrible Survivor. Inevitably, some people are going to be outed simply on fear of individual challanges. That's why you'll never see another Kelly from season one. More individual challanges means the Marcuses, Charlie's and Ace's get taken out sooner. Third, the power players are still in the game. What about Kenny, the underdog gamer that's been repsonsible for three of the last four votes? What about Sugar, the sweet, ditzy model that found the hidden immunity idol on her first try and shook off the unbearable Ace? Don't forget Matty, the last mochecan, who made a bad bargin with Ace and unexpectably got out of it... And was fine with it.

Hmmm... How about a season where it is one tribe from day one, but instead of playing for tribal immunity you divid into teams for each challenge, and the people on the winning team get immunity, but everyone goes to tribal, that could mix things up.

That's like saying Texas Tech should forfit their win against TExas because they weren't supposed to win.

That's not what I'm saying at all. I'm saying just the opposite. Tech deserved to win because they were the better team. But what if Tech had to draw numbers out of a bag and as a result had to give up their quarterback and star receiver just before the game and then had lost. That would be wrong and that's what happened to Marcus.I'm saying the better players deserve to stay just like the better teams deserve to win.

Now your reducing the game to a game of chance. I guareente that if MArcus hadn't been voted out, you would be happy that those that had the power from the beginning were still in control of the game. I'll be honest, I was expecting the whole "I won't watch again" schpeel from you.First, let me say that TT wasn't supposed to win. I was using that as an example. So, let's say that the better team, TT in your eyes, lost the starting quarterback (Marcus). Shouldn't the second-stringer (Charlie/Corrine) be doing more to hold on to the job, insted of just lying back thinking there's no way I can lose this job? Insted, what happened was the third-stringer (Ken) worked harder for the job and thus ended up as the starter. Make any sense? Just like in football, the best players deserve to keep playing. This isn't a popularity contest.

I want to see a Survivor where a true Survivor wins. This season, the true Survivor would be Bob, IMO.The alliances and all the twists and turns make the game unfair if one is really looking for the quality, survivor like person. It really should be a game that a person can control without alliances. However, physical skills should not be a factor either.Imagine you are marooned on a desert island with a group. Who is the most important person to you? Isn't it the most experienced person with a knowledge of what to eat, how to build a shelter, how to build a fire, etc? This show hasn't reflected that.I have watched Survivor from the beginning. I am thinking of skipping next season. I am bored with all the bikinis and muscles.

I just happened to notice that you did not have a lot of posts. Please continue to post. Honest respectful opinions and ideas are appreciated. I really like your idea. A single tribe would allow the contestants the opportunity to get know all of the other contestants. Could I make a few additional suggestions. I like that all players would go to TC, but those with immunity should not get to vote. This would provide the opportunity to break up alliances and keep a small group from controlling the game from the beginning and making things too predictable. Once the jury starts the RC's could still be random team vs random team or individual, but the ICs would be individual. Do you agree or disagree? *BAND*

MTV has a show called "The Challenge" and this last season they did it more like a Survivor type thing. None of them knew beforehand that they were going to be taken to a desert island and not have much to eat except for rice. Obviously, MTV and CBS are very different types of stations, but the one thing I thought made it more interesting to watch was how they voted people off the show. Instead of doing it secretly, like they do Survivor, the two people who were on the block stood there while each of the others said out loud who they were voting against and why. It made it a lot more interesting and a little trickier for people to keep their alliances hidden. I liked it better than tribal council on Survivor.Just my two cents.
Re:Survivor needs changes.

"Deserves to win" keeps coming up. Who "deserves" to win?The answer: nobody deserves it. Nobody has any right to the win more than anybody else; if you don't get it, you didn't earn it. It's that simple. Why did Ace get voted out? He revealed his social skills, smooth talking, and physicality too early. He made himself a target; Sugar could see she was being used, and Ken read Ace's next move. Ace pushed too hard with his character acting and it cost him.Why did Marcus get voted out? His alliance couldn't come to an agreement on Susie vs. Dan. They were pretending that it would be the Kota 6 all the way, but they made it apparent that Susie wasn't welcome. He and his alliance created a situation where Susie felt she had no shot at reaching the end, and that made her jump ship. The Onion alliance's poor play turned Susie into a swing vote, and this cost them. Why did Charlie get voted out? Part of it can (again) be blamed on the Onion alienating Susie. Part of it was becoming Ken's target, and not realizing that Ken had the most social power in the game.People get voted out because they don't solidify social positions properly or they fail to win immunity at crucial moments. Matty is still in because, in a bad social situation, he won immunity for himself. If Marcus had held the poles, not alienated Susie, or not targeted Ken during episode 8, he'd be in right now. He could have played well, but he made several mistakes that cost him. That's how the game works.Nobody deserves anything; if you slip up at the wrong moment, you're out and that's all there is to it.
