I agree. (Very well said btw). I will have a hard time watching the show without Jorja, Billy and Gary, but, I am going to try it out. I think that L. Fishbourne's character will be interesting and put a new twist in the story line. I personally can't wait to go to Chicago (later this year) and see Billy on stage. It will be fun seeing him doing more of what he loves the most. As far as where Grissom ends up, I hope he ends up with Sara, and we all know that Billy has agreed to come back for some episodes. I hope Jorja has too. It will be an interesting change. I think that Billy's departure was tastefully written. I appreciate how each character is being shown with Grissom, showing how their life will be changed without him and the effect that his leaving has on them. It finally shows his humanity and how he has matured emotionally.

I remember it was the happiest day of my life when I saw Sara walking out of the bathroom...in a robe...to GRISSOM. My heart skipped a beat, I was sooo happy. Season 7 was GREAT. Full of GSR. They looked SOO happy. Season 8 sucked. They fell apart. Just like we all knew they would. At least, I knew they would. It was building for a while. And when Sara left after Warricks death, it pretty much clarified what an ass Grissom really is. GSR is forever ruined for me. And it doesn't help that WP literally TRASHED it in an interview with TVGuide. So if Grissom wants to leave, and forget about his "soulmate", then so be it. He never treated her right from the get-go anyway. He treated her like a child, not like the woman she is. He made Sara look like a stalker. Sometimes I think they got together because Grissom caved. "The only woman I ever loved." Psht. Yeah. Show me that and I'll believe it. Sorry for my rant, but I was a faithful CSI fan who watched every week for the 7 GOOD seasons it's been on. Since the 8th, it's been ruined. And it's very sad.

its not saving CBS anything. william peterson will still get paid even though he's not physically in the episodes. he gets residuals.also, he is still going to produce the show, that hasn't changed. and he said that if he is needed for a story arc he has no problem making guest appearances over the years.... then again- who knows how long this show will last once he's gone.

You are right and CSI will go on but they have lost viewers after Sara JF left and they lost some more viewers after they killed off Warrick so I would except the show will lose more viewer once Grissom WP leaves the show. We have seen it in the past on other networks where they have one successful show which is a CASH COW for the network they will run the show until it dies. Look at what NBC did to ER with so many cast changes and look at LAW and Order, Law and order SUV and Law and order CI with all the cast changes when went through and they are still on the air not as good and dropping fast in the rating.So change is not good all the time.

I do agree with you, William has every right for a change if he wants one.But the show will not be the same with out him. The way I look at this is that we all LOVE CSI and we have lost 3 KEY main Characters that everybody loved in there own way Grissom, Sara and Warrick. Which in some ways we are all upset because our show is changing and there is nothing we can do about it. We all know that the show will no longer be the same.

For me, one of the best episodes was the introduction of Larry Fisburne to the show. It was spooky and I loved it. It made me want to see what will come next. I agree with you the more the main cast leave the show loses viewers look at what happened to ER and Law and Order they lose more fans every year.

He made it clear that no amount of money interested him in continuing the character, he was tired. The promos show and state that he was leaving CSI "forever", it insinuates that he dies, he doesn't. Under his contract he has I believe 2 more episodes to fulfill his contract. He will appear either at the end of the season or sometime in the next season. For those of us wanting him for Sara, we can only hope. I don't see him with Lady Heather. She did a good job working through her rage ref: her daughter's death, but Sara's past is a different story. I will sit with tissues in hand and bid farewell to WP. He definitely raised the bar for crime programs, like Vincent D'Onofrio does on L&O Criminal Intent.My questions are, where's Hank the dog and what happens to the bee hive he's nurturning. I still believe that he's going to Sara and possibly teach, maybe take over Fishburne's spot at the university. Changing and losing characters makes a huge difference in a show. If a character you love leaves or a character comes on who rubs you the wrong way, it changes for you. This is what's happening here. Not one, but 3 beloved characters have left, and the one replacement is someone many people don't care for, and it will effect the way we see the show. It will effect the way the show is written. So, yes, if you blindly watch it and have no feelings for the characters, you blindly continue watching. But if you truly get into the characters, and enough of them are gone, and the show has changed, you stop watching. As for me, I'm disgusted with LF coming on, and as I do like a couple of the remaining characters, I will be saying farewell to the show tomorrow night also, with a tear in my eye and a lump in my throat.

It's the non-verbal stuff that got me. Just pure emotions going across his face--you could see it all. Pretty incredible acting.Now we get to have new storytellers. It will sting a bit for me because I love all of the original characters and Grissom was my favorite, but I think once the "ouch" wears off, Mr. Fishburne will treat us to some pretty good acting of his own. WP hopes that it will be that way.

In every roll that he has ever been cast in, he has pulled it off with what seems to be ease. I loved him in 12 angry men, fear, the rat pack, live and die in La and i was in awe over him in the skulls. He holds himself with a poise that a lot of actors have seem to have lost throughout there working in film. I loved seeing him light up the screen every Thursday night at 9p. He will be very sorely missed. It's sad really, that now there are only a few that can warrant the true title such as ACTOR. And if one were to ask me, this new guy, Laurence Fishburne, has not only some exceedingly big shoes in the roll that he will have to fill, but to the loyal every Thursday night Grissom fans.... Not to change subject each episode from now until the end of the season test each character. How this person wouldnt tell me. May I ask not you but why so many are down on LF Ilike him. He's not Gary or Griss, the guy is growing on me, even hate to say Riley is too.

Would LF have been accepted if he had come in as a lead supervisor instead of a Level 1, just curious?

I just find it difficult to accept him with the background he has as being a newbie then he is out in the field doing stuff just like a level 3 CSI. So make him an expert, prior experience, or make him a true level 1 who has to put in his dues in the dumpster!

I think I would have liked him better as Grissom's replacement --say coming from the day shift or something like that.

Sarapals: Two things they were going to bring LF in as a replacement for Grissom, some how another that idea was axed. Guess in a since you could say the producers mainly Carol and company screwed up. What I have read and was told by my sister in-law who works for CBS/CSI, it is partly due to Grissom's uncertainty if he will or won't return, like she always tells me nothing in Hollywood is ever set in stone.

So takes us back to LF he's been on for serveral shows and at first Ifelt the same way, hell I said Iwasn't watching anymore after they killed off Warrick. Bit back my pride and watched. We have had a few good eppies and a few B rated ones as well this season. I for one (nobody give me the third degree) wasn't pleased with how One To Go ended. Want to talk about a far fetched episode. My husband looked at me and said what just happened? I had to explain the ending was for all the GSR fans. He as so many I know hated it, and we are all long time CSI fans.

Did Istop watching or berate your ending no, and Ithink so many others gave it the respect that you fans deserved. (sorry a little rant their)

Anyways back to LF and CSI through out the years characters have come and gone, some good some bad. Giving LF a chance and Riley as well, either that or I stopped watching the show all together. In all honesty since season 7 some of the episodes haven't made a whole lot of since.

My ranting is done, guess we non shippers could argue a case that the romance of sara and grissom would have never been allowed as well.

Even Warrick's funeral was hokey--I could definately write a better Baptist funeral!

Carol Mendelsohn has always said that Sara and Grissom belonged together, so I guess she wrote what she wanted to happen.

Hated and poorly written eppies:For Warrick , Art Imates Life, Go To Hell, One To Go, Ala Kart, Two and a Half Deaths, just to name a few. Even Dead Doll with it's high ratings, could have been better. Guess it's like all good shows I and so many others enjoy watching, you get good episodes and bad.

For Warrick floored me, can't tell you how P.O. Iwas thought the writers and producers took a wonderful character and shuffled him out to dry. Didn't mind the funeral, (could have been better) what Ididn't like was how they laid out the eppy. Even the following show was bad, come on.... WTF no mention of your best friend and co worker. *thumps head* Then that's CSI always leaving us fans hanging!!!!!!

Back to chatter about CSI: true, the good writers come and go and agree most moved on to other shows and csi got stuck with the flops. You have to admit their have been a few good episodes through out. Like hollywood **** (my nickname for him) in Deep Fried Minty Fresh. had me laughing so hard my hubby came in asked what was so funny. Gross how a woman could down toothpaste is beyond me. Ending was dumb, rest was pretty good. The Grave Yard shift had a few good line, loving how Nick is delvoping and has taken Ray under his wing, like Grissom took all of them. Babble, like how sweet and caring he's become. Wendy and Ray was funny her saying bad kitty and ray looking on. Was that two weeks ago? can't keep my dates straight with this one week new show and next a re-run.

catch 22 some are good and some are bad. Think it started from day one. Didn't care for every eppy in season 1, partyly it was more on getting the show to work. Remember some of the goofy lines they said. Think over the years watching each character grow has made it worth the wait.

Eppy in question which was a tad odd that i'll give you Disarmed and Dangerous. Think the ending was odd in a good sort of way, how he was told everything would be ok. At least it wasn't as bad as Go To Hell or Two and a Half deaths hated both of them. Funny 2 and a half men got the better eppy. Not that I watch it much.

saving grace have watched twice, ok not my type of show. Think it's confusing for me at least. So if you like NCIS are you going to watch the spin of the spin off. idk what I just said. Jag was first then NCIS now a spin off from NCIS is coming the character Sophia is on it. Wondering if her appearance on CSI has anything to do with this? My family member won't say a word!!!!!
