We all love the Criminal Minds characters. But let's say you had to get rid of one.

Which male character do you think is expendable and you wouldn't mind getting out?

I like all of them, don't want to see them go. However, Rossi is the most expendable in my opinion. We've seen the team work just fine without Rossi (in that little intermission between Gideon and Rossi, the team was as great as usual). We haven't seen them without Hotch, Reid, or Morgan, so I can't really picture what that would be like. Also, Rossi is still pretty new, so I'm not attached to him like I am the others.

I just find it funny that words that they are censoring are used in their own shows. Fet-ish, preg-nant, etc.

It is very rare to find this on a Show - On most shows there is at least one Character that you totally Just hate - hate - hate, But this Show well for me at leastI like something about each Character. It reminds me Of M.A.S.H. - In that All the Characters on there were just so Amazing and they Each add something to the Show - EVEN FRANK BURNS - If nothing Else he was a great Target for Pierce and Honeycutt

Most people like Hotch, but some people think that he is too uptight. 25% is probably a little higher than the truth, since there probably haven't been a ton of people that have voted.

Don't worry. "They" (meaning the show or the producers) aren't asking. A poster on the forums is asking. Anybody here could have made the same poll if we wanted. It's nothing more than a conversation starter. Even if they were planning to change cast (which, no, they're not ) they wouldn't come to a forum to ask people who they want gone.

They aren't going to get rid of anyone, and if they would it wouldn't be affected by a poll. It would have more to do with contracts, storylines, etc.

Patinkin,(Gideon),wasthe glue of the team. He was the heart that made everyone real.Gideon was warm and interesting, he had such depth. He is so unique that he made the show much more interesting. His private life and secret lover gave the show the only hint of romance that worked.

The chemistry betweenGideon and each of the cast members was real. He made Hotchner multi dimensional, even likeable. Without Gideon, Hotchner is just the boss, and really dark and dull with Rossi. Gideon really cared about the team members. They were his family. Gideon had sole.

The only thing Rossi has going for him, is the mystery of his past, and his unique voice.No one on the team connects with Rossi in any real way. Rossi does not connect with the viewer either. He really is just empty.

How many fans really miss Gideon?

Technically, yeah. And I suddenly remembered two episodes where Hotch wasn't in the field at the very beginning of the case. One was in the second episode, when he's suspended and was about to "leave" BAU. They still continued working, but maan! He [and Prentiss] just saved the day when he--they arrived in Milwaukee! And the second one would have to be on the 15th (?) episode [can't check at the moment. Internet connection here just gets disconnected by the minute it's irritating!], when he told Rossi that he would just follow 'coz he needs to talk to Jack.

i could not vote any off the show there all good and have an important role but i just could not see how the team could work out without hotch.

So, if you are choosing someone, I really fail to see why it's worse to choose Rossi than any of the other guys. Every single guy on the poll got a few votes, so why not boo to the Hotch haters, and the Morgan haters, and the Reid haters as well?

Either way, I also refuse to choose. I believe that the show is such a success and is so amazing because of the dymanics of the team as a whole, and cutting one character would compromise those dynamics. After watching Demonology, I have a new respect for Rossi. I believe that the show would suffer by getting rid of a character.

If there is a relationship formed, then you will have to vote off both characters. I loved Gideon in this show and miss him. However, there is a lot more to this show. Now CSI, lost everything when Grissom left just saying. I hate when characters leave during a series.

Iwas just mentioning to a friend how this is the one show on television (network ORcable) where *ALL*of the characters were important. In every other show, there is at least one person that I wouldn't care (and in some cases would applaud) them being "killed off" or moved across country or whatever it took to take them off canvas.Not so with Criminal Minds. Even Rossi, who I sometimes find grating, is necessary to the core of the show, which is figuring out the minds of the sickest of the sick.

As far as the woman are concerned Garcia and JJare staying. Prentiss, i don't like her and i will never like her.

I love all the characters BUT if one had to go, lets hope not! then I would vote for Morgan because IMHO he is the least interesting. not much developpement in his character this season. Rossi would be my second choice, he is okay but he doesn't bring much to CM.

Only one that are untouchables are Hotchner and Reid. Without them CM wouldn't be CM and I would stop watching if any of them left.

And, I still say anybody can pick whoever they want, since it's the whole point of the thread. So, people who pick Hotch won't get any argument out of me. I knew he had as good a chance as anyone of being picked by some fans. Ah, but if this were a different thread? I would argue -with episodic evidence-to back me up against certain ways Hotch is described here. So, isn't it nice that this isn't a different thread?

Ilook forward to Criminal Minds every week! I would like to see a little more background for each character as it would relate to the story/line.

It seems that all of you love Hotchner but I really don't like him...His character doesn't really stand out next to the other characters personalities. He seems kind of dull and lacks the charisma that the other characters have, Rossi included, though Rossi isn't a particular favorite of mine he seems to have more depth to him than Hotchner does. Hotchner always seems to be caught up in the fact that he got a divorce and doesn't see his kid often enough,well he could change that by going to see his kid...the producers make it seems as though there is more to him than meets the eye but Iam not buying it. Sorry if this doesn't go over well with the Hotchner fans...it's not like I totally hate him just if someone had to be kicked off I would be okay with Hotchner going with my second choice being Rossi...Cranae

For this poll to be true I believe there should also be a "none" option. The characters have a dynamic together. To remove one is to upset the dynamic and I LOVE the current dynamic. The subbie earlier in the season was an annoyance enough. I spent every episode waiting for that character to get kicked OFF. And now the possibility of losing one permanently along with the 5 writers that have already been fired, one of which was the top writer? Forget it. There are other ways to save money besides attempting to ruin one of the best shows currently out.

WHAT GET rid of one of the characters OMG. Now I know Rossi can be overbearing at time, yes I know that's an understatement to some of you, but all of the characters are like a complex equation, you remove one of them ... and it just doesn't work. And my daddy always told me, if it ain't broke .. don't fix it. The show is working superbly, don't do anything to ruin it .. like taking one of these 'fine' men away... afterall of Rossi's faults, he is rather easy on the eyes, right ladies

Rossi makes the show for me and I couldn't do without him. I’d weep buckets if he left!And Joe Mantegna is the stand-out actor across all of CM seasons -- a fantastic presence -- his character quickly became (to my mind) the compelling force in the team. When Gideon left, I didn’t miss him at all, though I liked him well enough while he was there. It's the other way around for me. When I watch the earlier seasons I miss the insight and energy that Rossi would have brought to them. He's different from the others. He works more out of his own energies and I like that independence.

Look at the depth Mantegna/Rossi brings -- he can be tough, true, especially when he thinks that someone is hiding a vital fact. He seems to know instinctively when someone is keeping a secret and he'll use whatever it takes to get it out of them. This makes him the perfect interrogator. I like the slightly antagonistic point of contact he offers to the unsubs. He understands them and uses this to goad and manipulate them. Makes a genuinely interesting psychological battle and I don't think you get that with the others on the team. But Rossi is not just a hard man. I see a warmth and caring in him that he offers to those he's accepted as part of his family. Once you're 'in' with him, you get a lot of the more humorous and gentle side of his character, though there probably always is a barrier to get through before you’re accepted.

I have a very bad theory. People will groan. I think Rossi is unpopular because he is so purely Scorpio.

Don't want to lose anyone from the team but in terms of balance in the running of the BAU and in terms of actor-replaceablility, I'd say Morgan is the easiest to dispose of, simply because he's a good-looking action hero. You can find those. Complexity of character, not so much so.

Ilove the show but when Joe Mantania (SP) you know who I am talking about the very hotlatinio. He make the show more interesting. Keep JOE Keep JOE Keep JOE.

I love all of the characters, but Rossi doesn't have the 'history'. We've seen Hotch through personal crisis as well as having to accept the changes in his team. We've watched Reid grow up and struggle through family and self-confidence issues. And we've watched Morgan learn to trust the others on the team and create a 'family' relationship with them (besides the fun and flirtatious moments between Morgan & Garcia are some of my favorites on the show).

I refuse to vote for any of the charectars, they all have a place in this series that makes the series as strong as it is, and oh yeah don't ever think of changing Reids charectar to be a killer.......... I swear I will never watch this show again if change any of the charectars.

I'd vote for Morgan; I don't hate him, but he's definitely my least fave from those choices.

i also like all of the characters and all are my favourite, rossi is still important to the team and the show wouldn't be the same if team was now a team of 6 instead of 7. rossi is just as equally important as the other characters.

david rossi, we need to bringback jason gideon, and keep spencer reid for sure.

EVERYONE works great together, why mess with perfection.
