What was your worst moment in the Race? Michael: The drive to the Pyramids on no sleep. Kathy: The worst moment was when I thought we were eliminated in Portugal on leg 4.
What was the best moment in the Race? Michael: Business class to London with plenty of wine. Kathy: Best moment was when Phil said "Michael & Kathy, you're Team Number 8" (after realizing that we weren't eliminated).
When and how was your relationship with your teammate strengthened or changed? Michael: I think our relationship was strengthened by the fact we didn't kill each other through the stress. Kathy: Our relationship has strengthened, as I thought it would. I got to know Michael even better.
Is there any place you'd revisit, or wish you had been able to visit? Michael: I'd go back to Scotland just to hear them talk. Kathy: Loved Portugal, would love to go back. Also, I would like to visit Spain more in depth.
If you could do the Race over, what would you do differently? Michael: Read the gas cap. Kathy: Pack less, run more, voice my opinions more loudly over Michael's.
Of all the things you packed, what was the most useful? Michael: My GPS (just joking). Kathy: My journal and all my hygiene products.
What did you wish you'd brought with you, but didn't? Michael: I wish I brought some earplugs to drown out the other Teams' clucking. Kathy: I think I brought too much, and ended up dumping quite a bit.
Now that you've finished the Race, what are your plans? Michael: Sitcom with Ken and Ian. Kathy: After the race I moved to San Diego, so it's like I'm still on vacation. I hope to continue traveling and hope that my next career will allow me to do that. I realize that we live in a small, yet big, world.
