AFTER THE RACE
What was your worst moment in the Race?
Jon: Coming in second place.
Kelly: When we missed the connection in Tokyo. That was the beginning of the end!
What was the best moment in the Race?
Jon: When we fought back to beat Millie and Chuck in Malaysia.
Kelly: Beating Millie & Chuck in Malaysia after all we'd been through that leg.
When and how was your relationship with your teammate strengthened or changed?
Jon: I think we grew stronger; it is a great feeling to see your partner do things that she normally would never do.
Kelly: Your relationship is always changing in life, but Jon and I got to decide if we're really right for each other on the Race--without a doubt, we are!
Is there any place you'd revisit, or wish you had been able to visit?
Jon: I would definitely like to see more of Australia.
Kelly: I wish we had gone too see the Pyramids, but I will definitely be going back to Australia.
If you could do the Race over, what would you do differently?
Jon: Make sure we get the first cab on the last leg.
Kelly: I don't think I would do the Race over. It was a fantastic experience, but I'm ready to move onto my next experience.
Of all the things you packed, what was the most useful?
Jon: My grey briefs.
Kelly: Jon's watch. We were in so many different time zones; it was nice to know what time it was at home--where it really matters.
What did you wish you'd brought with you, but didn't?
Jon: My lucky rabbit's foot.
Kelly: Make up and hair products! Racing doesn't exactly make you glow!
Now that you've finished the Race, what are your plans?
Jon: I am going to be Reichen & Chip's financial advisor.
Kelly: I've been really getting into my children's books and I hope to be published some day!
