- Eligibility: Open to legal residents of the 48 Contiguous United States or the District of Columbia at least eighteen (18) years of age (or age of majority if greater than 18) at the time of registration and are registered users (i.e. successfully obtain user ID and password) ("Registered Users") on any one or more of the following Web sites: CBS.com, CBSnews.com, CBS SportsLine.com, upn.com, NFL.com, SuperBowl.com and/or pgatour.com ("CBS Digital Media Sites.") Not eligible to enter are employees or agents of BP America Inc., ("Sponsor"), CBS Broadcasting Inc. and their parent companies, subsidiaries, divisions, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, (collectively, the "Sweepstakes Entities") and members of their immediate families (spouse, parent, child, sibling and their respective spouses) and those living in their households.
- To Register for Game Play: If you are not a Registered User on a CBS Digital Media Site, you may register and obtain user identification ("ID") and associated password ("Password") for CBS.com by going to http://www.cbs.com/primetime/amazing_race8/fantasy_mini/. You will be asked to click on the link to "sign up free" button and fill out the registration form in its entirety and successfully submit same. There is no fee to become a CBS.com Registered User. In addition to being a Registered User you must register separately to play the Amazing Race 8 Fantasy League Weekly Game ("Game.") There is no fee to register to play the Game. The "Game Registration Period" begins on or about Noon Eastern Time ("ET") on 9/20/05 and ends at 8:59:59 PM ET on or about 12/13/05. To register for the Game, visit the CBS.com Web site anytime during the Game Registration Period, click on the Amazing Race 8 Fantasy League Weekly Game icon, and complete the online registration form. Registrants ("Players") must complete entire online registration form and successfully submit in order to be eligible for Game participation. Broadcasts of Amazing Race 8 are subject to preemptions and scheduling changes. If such changes occur, they will be posted on the Amazing Race 8 Web site. The use of automated or third party software or Web site to register and/or play is prohibited. LIMIT ONE GAME REGISTRATION PER PARTICIPANT. Releasees (as defined below) assume no responsibility for incorrect or inaccurate registration information, human error or technical malfunctions, lost/delayed data transmission, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, line failures unauthorized access of any computer equipment or software, or any combination thereof. Registrations become the property of the Sponsor. Participants who submit inaccurate registration data and/or exceed the registration limits may be excluded from participation at any time during or after the Game. By registering, Game registrants agree to be bound by these rules & consent to use by Sponsor and its designees of their names &/or photographs for advertising or publicity purposes in any and all media now or hereafter known throughout the world in perpetuity, without further consideration, notification or permission, except where prohibited by law.
- Game Play: Players will be required to pick one (1) "team" defined as a group of four family members from the available Amazing Race 8 teams that they think will have the fastest race completion time for the next new episode of Amazing Race 8. Except for the premiere episode on 9/27/05, Players can select or change their team selection any time between 1 AM ET the day following a broadcast of a new episode of Amazing Race 8 and 8:59:59 PM ET on the day the next new episode of Amazing Race 8 is broadcast. This period of time is known as the "Team Selection Window." The Team Selection Window for the premier episode begins on or about Noon Eastern Time ("ET") on 9/20/05 and ends at 8:59:59 PM on 9/27/05. A "Team Freeze" is in effect from the beginning of the East Coast broadcast of an Episode until 4 hours after the end of the broadcast of that Episode on the nights a new episode of Amazing Race 8 is broadcast. During "Team Freeze" a Player may not change his/her team selection. The Game will not be conducted on nights when a new episode of Amazing Race 8 is not broadcast. All decisions regarding which team posted the fastest race completion time for a specific episode will be made by a CBS representative whose decisions are final on matters relating to the Game. On nights when two new episodes are broadcast back-to-back, Players will be able to select two teams, one per episode. In the event the team selected by the Player for the second episode is eliminated during the first episode broadcast that night, the Player will not be eligible for either episode's prize drawing.
- Determining Weekly Winner: All Players who selected the team with the fastest time from the start of the race to the pit stop for the new Episode that corresponds to that week's Team Selection Window will be placed into a random drawing to determine the one (1) weekly prize winner. In the event two or more teams tie, the tied teams will be placed into a random drawing and (1) one team will be selected. Players who choose that team will be placed in the random drawing. Drawing conducted the Monday following each new episode of Amazing Race 8 by Marden-Kane Inc., an independent judging organization whose decisions are final on matters relating to this Game. Potential winner will be required to sign, have notarized & return to Marden-Kane an affidavit of eligibility/release of liability within 10 days of issuance of notification. Failure to complete and return the documents in the time noted will result in the disqualification of the potential winner and an alternate winner will be selected and notified. Odds of winning depend upon number of eligible entries received for each episode. Limit one prize per registered user.
- Prizes: Thirteen Weekly Prizes. Each prize consists of one (1) $250 BP Gas Card. Prize use subject to terms and conditions provided with prize. Prize is non-transferable; no substitutions or cash equivalents allowed, except at the discretion of the Sponsor. All details of prize not specified herein shall be determined solely by Sponsor. If prize is unavailable for any reason (other than geographic proximity of a BP affiliated service station to a winner's home) a prize of equal or greater value will be awarded. Taxes are the responsibility of the winner. Total retail value of all prizes is $3,250. Each participant agrees to release, discharge, indemnify and hold harmless the Sponsor, its parent company, and their affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, including Marden-Kane, Inc., and all of their respective employees, directors, officers, shareholders & agents (collectively, "Releasees") from any & all claims or liability in connection with participation in this promotion or acceptance or use of any prize.
- Internet: If for any reason this Game is not capable of running as planned due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of the Sponsor which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Game, the Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Game. In the event of such cancellation, termination or suspension, Sponsor shall post notice thereof at game website. Should this promotion be terminated, Sponsor reserves the right to select winners for remaining prizes in a random drawing from among all eligible, non-suspect team registrations received as of the action requiring such termination. Releasees are not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or telephone lines, computer on-line systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail or entry to be received by Sponsor on account of technical problems, human error or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any Web site, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to participant's or any other person's computer relating to or resulting from participation in this Game or downloading any materials in this Game. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE GAME IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, THE SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES OR OTHER REMEDIES FROM ANY SUCH PERSON (S) RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ATTEMPT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. In the event of a dispute as to the identity of a winner based on an e-mail address, the winning entry will be declared made by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at time of registration. "Authorized account holder" is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, on-line service provider or other organization (e.g., business, educational institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address.
- Names of Winners: To obtain the names of the prize winners, available after 1/1/06, mail a SASE to: Marden-Kane, 36 Maple Place, Manhasset, NY 11030 Attn: CBS Amazing Race 8/Weekly. Requests received after 2/28/06 will not be honored.
