I was as excited as a child at Christmas as I watched the Amazing Racers travel through my "home." I grew up with the Beartooth Mountains as my backyard. This area contains some of the most beautiful landscape. The people are extra friendly.

Red Lodge caters well to the typical tourist crowd. Skiing in winter and Yellowstone Park in summer keep the community hopping year-round. If you heard reports of the destruction of the famous Beartooth Highway, don't worry. It was repaired just in time to open right before the major snowfall. Visitors will once again literally drive over a mountain when the road re-opens for the season in May.

The area around Absarokee has some of the best fishing, wild river rafting, hiking, mountain climbing, and all sorts of local history. Pack a picnic lunch and plan to drive slowly so you can enjoy the view. It seems that the landscape changes around every bend and each view is a new experience.
