Will Powers His Way Into Spotlight
If Shannon and Will confuse each other, Justin baffles everyone else with his random behavior. One night at dinner he says grace, but later threatens Bunky when Bunky playfully smacks him. Kent says he's "a bully, intimidating," when talking about an incident where Justin stole the pillow Kent brought from home. When Kent took it back, they exchanged words. Justin got into Kent's face, threatening him. While Justin says he behaves this way to throw people off, he's lost an ally in Kent who doesn't want to partner with him anymore. A big hurdle is crossed when Bunky tells Kent that he is gay. Since Kent said to his face that he thought homosexuality was deviant and perverse, Bunky has been afraid to tell him the truth. But after they argue the semantics of what Bunky did and didn't say ("I never said I had a wife"), Kent is very supportive of Bunky. He respects Bunky for his courage and asks him a series of questions about the experiences Bunky has been through. Bunky admits if he could snap his fingers and be straight, he would do it.
