A Hardy Day's Night For Kent and Will
Mostly successful in the latest Food Competition, the group now faces a potentially larger challenge: Kent is going to quit smoking. With his supply of smokes dwindling, Kent barters with Bunky, giving him two powerbars for each pack of cigarettes. Big Brother provides Kent with ZybanŽ and "the patch" to help him quit, but his repeated requests for more cigarettes as a Head of Household perk are denied. (The Big Brother 2 rules stated, and the HouseGuests were explicitly told in advance, that they had to bring their own cigarettes and could potentially get more as prizes for Food and Luxury Competitions ONLY.) With Kent agitated as he tries to kick his habit, Bunky worries that being disagreeable this week might lead to a nomination for Kent. Also troubling Bunky is the fact that he was told Hardy called him "wallpaper," or someone just there to blend in. He wants to distance himself from Kent to maximize his chances of staying, but doesn't want to lose Kent's friendship. Hardy says that "The only one I don't want to win is Bunky." They talk, and Bunky asks Hardy if he is "threatened by me to win this game?" Hardy says no, and cryptically adds, "I'm not in here to win, but to make sure someone else wins." After Hardy leaves Bunky alone, Bunky says, "He is threatened by me. And he should be."
