THE OUTGOING HOH SPEAKS
Marcellas, the target-turned-HoH, is interviewed alone by Host Julie Chen in the HoH Room, where he can speak without being heard by the others. He calls the whole BIG BROTHER experience thus far "amazing," and says he has no regrets for nominating Tonya and Josh for eviction, since they were the people he's had problems with since the onset of the game. Of his friendship with Amy, Marcellas says it makes him happy "just to lay eyes on her," but admits she sometimes gets on his nerves. Marcellas says Gerry is the HouseGuest he would least like to see as the next HoH. He says he thinks he'd be safe with Gerry in charge, but that he "doesn't trust him as much as I once did."
Preparing to vote, Lisa says that Tonya brings "girliness" to a male-dominated House, exemplified by Josh's "flirty, piggy" behavior. Jason prefers to say Josh brings "life and energy" to the House and notes that Tonya is a great asset to the House because of her nurturing nature. Lisa votes to evict Josh, while Jason votes against Tonya, keeping the votes tied at 3 each with the outcome about to be revealed.
TA-TA TONYA
Julie Chen tells the HouseGuests that the final voting tally is 5-3, with Tonya evicted. Josh seems stunned by the revelation, while Tonya collects hugs and well-wishes from the other HouseGuests. In the House, Josh goes to the bathroom to compose himself while the rest of the group reconvenes on the living room couches in stunned silence. In the studio, Tonya tells Julie she's pretty surprised at having been evicted and thinks it's because Josh convinced a lot of people to keep him, while she sat by idly. The doubleheader arguments she had with Amy and Marcellas may have contributed to her eviction, she admits, but doesn't regret her actions because she was standing up for herself both times. The only regret she does have is that she didn't try harder to secure the votes she needed to stay in the House. Of the remaining HouseGuests, she hopes that Chiara will be the ultimate winner.
THE NEW HOH IS…
After Tonya's eviction, Marcellas's reign as HoH is over. To crown the new HoH, the HouseGuests play a game called "One Step Beyond." Each HouseGuest is blindfolded and has to answer true or false questions by raising a paddle to answer "true" and keeping their paddles down for "false." For every correct answer, they take one step forward, with the new HoH being the one who gets to the finish line first. Josh and Eric both get the first two questions wrong ("Lori is from Wisconsin." "There is one vegetarian in the House.") and Josh gets the third question wrong as well, while everyone else answers correctly and moves three steps ahead. Everybody gets questions 4-7 correct, leaving a seven-way tie for first place. Josh and Eric are eliminated from contention, and everyone else is asked a tiebreaker question: What was the combined weight of all the HouseGuests before any brownie was consumed in the last Food Competition? Roddy's guess comes the closest without going over the total, giving him the Head of Household power and amenities for the next week. On Saturday night he makes his nominations. Is Josh safe for this week, or has Roddy reconsidered their alliance? Whom does he consider to be the number one threat in the House? Find out who his two nominees for eviction will be Saturday at 8 PM on the next episode of BIG BROTHER 3!
