Multiple Emmy Award winner Jean Smart is best known for her role as Charlene in the series "Designing Women," on CBS.
Her other television credits include the series "Frasier," for which she received two Emmy Awards for Outstanding Guest Actress, "In Laws," "The Oblongs" and, on CBS, "High Society," "The District," for which she was nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress, "Style and Substance." She also starred in the movies "A Change of Heart," "Audrey's Rain," "The Yearling," "Overkill: The Aileen Wuornos Story," "Undue Influence" and "A Stranger in Town," and in the mini-series "Scarlett."
Her feature film credits include "Bringing Down the House," "Sweet Home Alabama," Disney's "The Kid," "Snow Day," "Guinevere," "The Odd Couple II," "Mistress" and "The Brady Bunch Movie."
Smart has also appeared on Broadway in "The Man Who Came to Dinner," for which she was nominated for a Tony Award, and "Last Summer at Bluefish Cove."
Born in Seattle, she lives in Los Angeles with her husband and son. Her birth date is September13.
