HANK'S DATE: CAST AWAY
For his second date, Hank, the options trader from Chicago, decided to take Lisa fishing. Hank grew up fishing and knew he'd be doing it the rest of his life, so the way he figured it, if he and Lisa were going to be together forever, Lisa had better start learning now. Sure enough, Lisa admitted she'd never fished before. Hank started her off with the basics, teaching her how to tie a "fisherman's knot." Before long, Lisa was hauling in fish and plopping them in the bucket, paying little mind to the slime involved. She even laughed it off when she got some fish guts on her: "It's no fun if there's no blood." Hank told her the weather sucked in Chicago, which is why he was planning on moving south someday. He then asked her sheepishly if she might want to join him. The sexual tension between the two rose higher as they went to pay for their lunch and Hank asked Lisa to reach in his pocket for his wallet. "Oh, that old trick?" Lisa responded. Still, she grabbed it and when she put it back in his pocket gave Hank the opportunity to respond in kind. As their date came to an end, Lisa threw her arms around Hank and told him what a great time she'd had with him. But once again, just like last week, Hank found himself unable to summon the courage to kiss her, left "stuck with a bag of dead fish and no girl."

And once again, Laura found herself unable to stop gushing over Hank. "I still love you," but added "You're so laid back, you're almost horizontal. When the hell are you gonna kiss her?!" Kimberly said as much: "Hank, this is not the 1950s. You CAN kiss her. If you don't kiss her, I'm afraid you're gonna lose her."

But Hank assured the two ladies that "Lisa and I got a trick up our sleeves, so you'll all just have to wait. But you'll get what you're looking for." When she heard that, Lisa sparked up, saying to a clearly surprised Hank, "You offering right now?" She then called Hank up to the table for an impromptu kiss that the audience--and Laura and Kimberly--ate up in a huge way.

SCOTT'S DATE: WHEN SCOTT MET LISA
Scott, the corporate strategist from New York and a self-confessed "movie geek," was up next, laying out a "Hollywood picnic" for Lisa outside a sound stage on a studio lot. Scott designed the date as a test of Lisa's movie knowledge. Much to his surprise and delight, Lisa recognized the watermelon from "Dirty Dancing" and the deli spread from "When Harry Met Sally." When Scott asked Lisa to act out the orgasm scene from that movie, she snapped back that first he'd "have to prompt one." The two then discussed the fine art of kissing, with Scott suggesting that how someone kisses is a good indicator of how they'll be in bed. Obviously working himself into a lather, Scott suddenly exclaimed, "If I don't get to kiss you right now, my head's going to explode." Lisa laughed, but declined the offer (I'm still a traditional girl at heart"), leaving Scott alone with his thoughts and prayers: "I hope she feels something."

The date over, it was Scott's turn to face the music. Laura admitted the date was clever, but laid it on the line for Scott in her inimitable, straightforward fashion: "Read my lips: Lisa is not attracted to you!" Once again, Kimberly agreed, softening the blow by saying, "I think you make a great boyfriend, and a great husband. But not Lisa's."

When it came time to defend himself, Scott claimed he's always liked to take things slowly in his relationships in the past. But Lisa wasn't buying it: "You are way too forceful, based on what we just saw. I forgot that it was that bad!"

KEN'S DATE: DATING DISCREPENCIES
Next up was Ken, the equity trader from Chicago, who was hoping to atone for an admittedly less than thrilling date last week at the winery. This week, Ken brought Lisa to the beach, and into what he called "my world." As Ken went over the finer points of beach volleyball, Lisa appeared to be struggling slightly to remain interested. After taking a break from the volleyball, the two settled on the sand to hang and talk. But Ken seemed to have just as much trouble there holding Lisa's attention as he discussed such topics as "the mathematical discrepancies in the stock market." Later, the two took in the view from the pier, where Ken draped his arms around Lisa and told her about his passion for computers. Later, Ken admitted that he'd tried to speed things up on the pier, but then felt "like it was forced a little."

Back in the studio, Laura sure wasn't forcing it when she told Ken, "It was forced a lot. And you always have an excuse. Maybe you're just boring." Kimberly said it didn't look like Lisa or Ken were enjoying themselves: "I just didn't feel like you were into the date. I could tell Lisa wasn't into the date. I don't think you are the right man for Lisa."

Ken squirmed in response: "I cannot buy a friggin' break! I just dodged a bullet, and I'm in front of the firing squad again." Lisa defended Ken to a point, but encouraged him to "relax a little bit more, and I think it'll come out naturally. I think there's something there."

PAUL'S DATE: A STABLES KIND OF GUY
Paul, the playwright and professor from New York, took Lisa horseback riding on their second date. She told him she loved New York and would love to live there, which sounded good to Paul, since he was hoping his upcoming play would open big and that he'd have someone there to share his success with. Later, the two snuggled by the stables as Paul whispered into her ear, "I like holding you. It's kinda fun." Lisa responded with a whisper of her own: "Yeah, it's pretty nice." The two sealed their date with a kiss, and as Lisa walked away, Paul definitely looked like he was "enjoying the moment."

Paul may have enjoyed his moment with Lisa, but when Laura laid into him, it must've been a lot harder. She began her critique by saying "You are so lucky this decision is out of my hands. There is still something about you I just don't trust." But Kimberly called Paul "a great teacher without being condescending. The date was super-romantic!"

Paul played it humble, saying that his grandmother always told him "'Not everyone gonna like you,' but I'm honored that you're giving me the chance." For her part, Lisa had no ambivalence about her riding teacher, asserting "I'm a big girl, and I like you a lot."

DOMINIC'S DATE: SHAKEN AND STIRRED
A recent college graduate and professional bartender, Dominic took Lisa to a bar, where he taught her how to make an apple martini. He clearly enjoyed hugging her from behind as he showed her the proper method for shaking up the drink. Later, they took their drinks to a lounge and discussed their growing attraction for each other. Lisa offered no argument when Dominic stated that they had "an obvious connection." Back at the bar, Dominic offered to make her another drink, but added a provision: if Lisa liked this drink, she'd have to kiss him. Lisa agreed to the terms, downed the drink, and loved it. Dominic took her in his arms for the promised kiss, which definitely seemed to have some real feeling behind it. Afterward, Dominic expressed the hope that the other guys weren't experiencing the same connection he had made with Lisa. As he put it, he saw "good things [happening] in the future with her and I."

Laura was nearly blushing when it was her turn to critique the date: "I asked you last week to show me the man and not the boy, and I definitely think you passed the test, honey! Ooh la-la! " Kimberly said she was still unsure if Dominic was ready to get married, but she added, "I would rather see you snuggled up with her than a lot of these guys out here." Dominic continued to defend his youth, pleading with America, "Help me out. Help me out!" But Lisa clearly felt that Dominic needed no help, saying that their date should've laid to rest any doubt about Dominic's manhood: "He is a man's man. And I think we proved that with that little date segment!"

TO LIVE AND LOVE ANOTHER DAY
The dates over, Brian explained how the voting works, in order for America to decide which of the remaining nine guys should stay on CUPID--and in Lisa's life--and which one, like Rob, should go. Before turning to Laura and Kimberly to find out who they hoped America wouldn't vote for, Brian asked each of the remaining nine guys to reveal which of the other guys they believed America SHOULDN'T vote for. Their results were mixed, but ultimately it will be up to America to make the final choice. Tune in next Tuesday at 9PM ET/PT to find out who Lisa--and America--will say goodbye to, and which Elite Eight will live on to love another day.
