The Black Spots Revealed: A Crew Divided... Again
Captain Azmyth and his Officers meet their crew on the ship's deck to give out the letters, three of which contain the Black Spot. When Alexis opens her letter, she comments, "I'm not surprised I got the Black Spot, I was somewhat expecting it. My personality can be hard for people to swallow and that's their problem, not mine." Laurel has the opposite reaction when she opens her letter, shocked to see a Black Spot. "I don't even know what my case is," she explains. "So, I'm just gonna try to stay positive, only I'm not gonna talk about the other people. I'm just gonna talk about myself and why I'm so cool and good." Joe Don expects to see a Black Spot, but instead his former Officer, Cheryl, receives the tarnished letter. Cheryl doesn't get emotional when she sees her Black Spot, confident she can use her skills as a Deputy District Attorney to convince the crew she's right.
After the Black Spots have been handed out, the crew starts to discuss how they will vote that night. Jay explains to Louie that he wants Cheryl gone because he's tired of her looking down her nose at him. Louie agrees with Jay as he continues his quest to cut Joe Don adrift. "If I can't take the head of the snake, I'll take the tail," he explains. "She's just guilty by association." Nessa and Christa also agree that it's Cheryl's time to go. Joe Don notices that a lot of the crew wants Cheryl gone, so he turns to his former Officer, Ben, in an attempt to form an alliance to keep Cheryl safe. "When you start trying to pick off people that are my people, I gotta bust it up, man," says Joe Don. "My best case scenario will be that Alexis goes tonight."
Money Talks and Cheryl Must Walk
Jay continues to approach the crew about Cheryl, hoping to sway the vote his way because his status as an Officer prevents him from voting at Pirates' Court. As he talks to the crew, he thinks he can control Christa, Louie, Kendra, and Nessa, but he needs one more vote to secure Cheryl's departure. That vote lies with Sean. Jay soon realizes Sean's vote may be hard to come by since Sean wants Alexis to leave; he views her as a liability. To convince Sean that Cheryl needs to go, he turns to the gold coins he received as Joe Don's Bosun and pays Sean a thousand dollars to bribe him into seeing things his way. Sean accepts the money, but he's still conflicted over the vote because he views Cheryl as a strong female competitor. "I am the swing vote, so if I do lie, they'll know," Sean explains. "I've got a lot on my mind right now. I'm not sure what I'm gonna do just yet."
Meanwhile, below deck, Jay and Louie are convinced that Pirates' Court is now under their control. Jay explains to Louie that there's no way Sean could go against them because he has now been paid off. "He's golden or he's out in the cold, so it's up to him," Jay says confidently.
