Below deck, Jay and Louie discuss the new twists and predict that a Captain will eventually get greedy if faced with a $200,000 treasure. "If a Captain takes all the treasure, there's no doubt in my mind that every Pirate on that ship will get that Captain cut adrift," Louie says. Kendra also wonders what Christa will do with the treasure, noting, "It's never a good feeling when you find out that 100 percent of the treasure is handed to one person when more than one person helped find that treasure. But the new Captain is Christa…I don't think a lot of people realize how smart she actually is."
Can Christa be Cutthroat?
When Christa heads below deck, the crew eagerly greets their wealthy Captain. As Louie congratulates her, Jay whispers in her ear, "Don't split up the money - I got a good idea." Christa then takes Jay into the Captain's Cabin, where he tells her that he can get her an extra $10,000, but she'll have to be devious. Jay outlines his plan and tells Christa to give Kendra only $2,000 at first, before promising her that she'll get the other $10,000 of her share when Christa buys the pardon from her. However, instead of buying the Pardon, she should just keep the $10,000 and set Kendra adrift.
"I want to do two things here," Jay says. "I want to make sure that Kendra doesn't get all of her money. And number two, I wanna make sure she goes home." Christa struggles with this concept, but Jay reassures her that she didn't come here to be Kendra's friend. "I'm the devil on your shoulder, you're the angel on mine," Jay says before Christa asks him to send in Kendra. Christa considers Jay's proposition and notes, "The benefit to me of getting rid of Kendra would just simply be that I could take her $10,000 and not have to see her again so I don't have to feel bad about it."
Christa meets with Kendra and gives her $2500 before telling her that she'll bid the remaining $10,000 of her share on the Pardon. She also warns Kendra that she'll probably get a Black Spot. As Kendra leaves, Christa starts to have second thoughts on the plan. "I can't just look her in the eye, knowing that I took her money," she explains. "I got this far doing the right thing. And if worse comes to worse, I'll just change my mind later."
