As Louie grapples with this confession, Ben tries to apologize, adding, "It's the lowest point that I can think of for myself probably ever. Just try to understand I feel like I had no choice and it had to be done." When Cameron asks Louie how that feels, he responds by saying it hurts. Ben finishes his defense by saying, "You guys know where I stand. Understand how hard that was for me, and the sacrifices that I've made. And I want this."
Cameron asks Jay about Mutiny, to which Jay replies, "If you're playing a game of chess, you take out the Queen every time." This prompts Christa to defend her Captaincy and appeal to Jay's sensitive side. "I believe that you are my friend beyond this game and I would hope that you do not Mutiny me," she says to Jay. "'Cause I truly care about your family and I just hope that you care about mine."
Jay places the single ballot on the dagger's blade and Cameron examines it, informing Christa that it's not a Mutiny card. He looks at Ben and Louie and informs Ben that his adventure will continue, but Louie's voyage is over. Ben and Jay say goodbye to Louie while Christa fights back tears as she prepares to cut Louie adrift. "Make it swift," Louie says, hugging Christa. "No tears, baby. Don't make me cry." With those final words, Louie is cut adrift.
