Ben and Jay both arrive at the next pool and Ben swims underwater, discovering the next clue, which says, "The gold is by the waterfall." Ben swims back to the waterfall, with Jay trailing behind, and discovers the treasure. Exhausted after his win, Ben says, "This is the first treasure I've pulled out and it's the most important one yet. I'm on top of the world." Christa catches up to Ben and hugs him, undeterred by his victory. "I'm pulling out one treasure and it's gonna be the last," she states confidently.
Beware of Ghosts
Ben brings the treasure back to the ship and Cameron informs him that he's earned the right to hunt for Steel's gold and that today's entire $50,000 treasure belongs solely to him. Cameron then tells Christa and Jay that they're automatically marked with the Black Spot and at Pirates' Court, they'll fight for the right to compete against Ben on the final Expedition.
"It will be the Ghosts who decide which one of you is cut adrift," Cameron tells them. "Your actions of the past, the things you've done, the choices you've made…The Pirates you've cut adrift are coming back to haunt you." While Jay realizes the Ghost Pirates may go after him for revenge, Ben puts on the Captain's coat for the first time.
In the Captain's Cabin, Ben decides to remain loyal and splits his treasure with Christa and Jay. As they each count their gold, Jay worries about the return of the Ghost Pirates and says, "That doesn't bode well for me because I think there's gonna be a lot of sour grapes. But you know what? I'm not gonna take any crap. I'm gonna talk to the jury the same way I played the game: straight-up and hardcore."
