The Final Expedition - Caves, Cannons and Cards
The final Expedition starts with both crews rowing to shore, where they will race up a mountain trail and locate a set of caves. With the help of Cheryl's strong paddling, the Black Crew reaches shore first and starts running up the path. Both crews arrive at the caves where each crew must untie an Ancient Chinese box that contains their next clue.
Both crews carry their boxes down the path to an abandoned armory where they search for a key hidden in the barrel of a cannon. Ben finds the key and uses it to open the ancient box, finding a clue and a deck of cards that they must arrange in the correct order to get their next clue. The Red Crew has trouble placing their deck in order when Christa misinterprets the directions, but the Black Crew succeeds and discovers writing on the edges of the deck, which tells them to look under cannon balls.
They find a room with thousands of tiny cannon balls and after digging through them, the Black Crew discovers a Captain's wheel and a note which stipulates that the treasure seeker must abandon his or her crew and make their way up a steep trail to Captain Steel's quarters to discover the next clue.
The Treasure's Location Revealed
Ben makes his way up the path and arrives first at Captain Steel's quarters where he mounts the ship's wheel to a coat of arms to decipher a code that will reveal the location of Steel's fortune. He also finds a locked metal box with a key inside that he will need to open the final treasure. After he struggles with trying to find a clue on the coat of arms, Christa also arrives at Steel's quarters.
Ben realizes that the notches on the wheel can be lined up with letters and discovers that the treasure is actually inside the Chest of Zanzibar. "There's been a massive amount of money sitting right in front of our noses and nobody knew it," Ben says.
