 Flip Schultz & Loni Love
The first performer in the Comedian category was Flip Schultz, who joked about being from Florida and about his ex-girlfriend. "A little too animated for me," commented Carol Leifer, who gave Flip 3 stars. Lance Bass also gave him 3 stars, but disagreed with Carol: "I like the animation. It reminds me of Jerry Lewis." "Shades of Jim Carrey," agreed Naomi Judd, giving Flip 3 stars. Ben Stein gave Flip 2 stars, explaining, "The animation and movement of the arms is going about 80, the humor is going about 20. I didn't quite get it."
The second Comedian was Loni Love, who joked about terrorists and her Detroit family. Loni received a perfect score of 5 stars from each judge. "You are seriously funny," Carol Leifer told her. Lance Bass added, "You have wonderful energy." Naomi Judd was equally enthusiastic: "This is the launching pad. This rocket ship's going to the moon!" Ben Stein advised, "Quit your day job. You are a genius."
The home audience agreed with the judges in this category tonight: they gave Flip 11 stars and Loni 18. Loni Love won the category with 38 stars and will return for the Semifinals tomorrow night. |
